  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make rice with cabbage in a slow cooker? Prepare the necessary products. Tomato paste can be replaced with canned peeled tomatoes, tomato juice, ketchup, etc. Instead of onions, you can take green onions, leeks, etc. Peel the onion and rinse in cold water so that when cutting it does not sting your eyes. Remove the top leaves from the cabbage fork; they are usually wilted.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Rinse the rice well several times until the water is clean. This way the starch is washed out of the cereal. Read more about the intricacies of choosing and preparing rice in a separate article, link at the end of the recipe.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Pour the washed rice into the multicooker bowl. Many people cook rice with cabbage in a slow cooker a little differently, first frying the onion with rice cereal, then adding chopped cabbage and water and tomato paste. This option differs in that the rice must first be boiled until half cooked. According to the recipe, the onion is not fried, but stewed along with the rest of the ingredients. At the same time, the dish turns out to be more dietary, juicy and aromatic.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Pour hot water over the rice, lightly salt and add bay leaves. Turn on the “Rice” or “Porridge” mode for 20 minutes when pouring hot water and for 30 minutes when pouring cold water into the cereal. Close the equipment with a lid. The exact time will depend on the power and operating features of your multicooker. You can read more about this in a separate article using the link at the end of the recipe.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Shred cabbage to medium thickness. As soon as the multicooker beeps to indicate the end of the mode, add the cabbage slices to the rice.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

    Add tomato paste.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Cut the peeled onion into half rings or small cubes and also place in the multicooker bowl.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Salt and pepper the dish to taste. You can also add ground paprika and dried thyme if desired. Pour in vegetable oil. Read about how to choose the right vegetable oil in a separate article, link at the end of the recipe.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Mix everything carefully. Turn on the “Extinguishing” mode for 15-20 minutes, close the lid.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

As soon as you hear a sound signal indicating the end of the mode, carefully open the multicooker lid and release the steam. You can add butter to the finished dish to enhance the taste and aroma.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

Place the stewed cabbage with rice from the slow cooker into deep plates, decorate and serve hot. If desired, the dish can be supplemented with sour cream or garlic mayonnaise, aioli sauce or other savory snacks, fresh bread or baguette. Bon appetit!

I wanted stewed cabbage, I was looking for how to cook cabbage using a miracle technique, so that I wouldn’t have to stand near the stove quickly, easily, and without having to stand near the stove. I accidentally came across the original recipe for “rice with cabbage in a slow cooker.” For the first time I see that you can stew cereals with cabbage. I really wanted to try it, but there was only brown rice. This didn’t stop me and I decided to start. First, I boiled the rice in the Redmond multicooker in the “porridge” mode for 20 minutes. Then I added onions, tomato paste and some carrots of my own. The only spices I added were salt and pepper, so as not to overwhelm the taste of the stewed cabbage. I cooked it in the “stew” mode for 20 minutes in the Redmond multicooker. Having opened the lid, I felt a wonderful aroma. This is an incredibly tasty, satisfying, tender, juicy, aromatic and dietary dish! Absolutely everyone, big and small, liked the dish. We ate it with bread and garlic. Thank you!
