    You need to start with the cream, because it needs to cool.

    Zest the lemon, then squeeze out the juice. Mix sugar, milk, yolks, starch over low heat and bring to a boil.

    Add lemon zest and juice, cook until thickened. Add chocolate. Leave the cream to cool under the film, then put it in the refrigerator for an hour.

    For the cakes: beat eggs, whites, sugar for 5 minutes until volume increases. Add vanilla tincture, vegetable oil. Separately mix flour, baking powder, salt, ground poppy seeds. Gently mix the dry mixture using the folding method with the beaten eggs.

    Pour the dough onto a sheet of parchment paper, level it, bake until light golden brown, 7-8 minutes at 200 degrees. (preheat the oven). Remove the cake, cover with paper, a towel and cool. Remove the top sheet, along with it the thin top crust will be removed from the cake. Cut the cake crosswise into three parts.

I registered specifically to leave a review under this wonderful cake. I made it for the Makoveya holiday - my family was wildly delighted. Thanks for the recipe!!! The only thing is that I took confectionery cream instead of regular cream - it turned out even cooler... and I added... more chocolate to the cream.
