Potatoes with turkey
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to make turkey stew with potatoes and carrots in a frying pan? Prepare the necessary ingredients according to the list. What parts of the turkey are suitable for this dish? This could be tender, lean fillet from the breast, or fattier meat from the thighs. You can use any vegetable oil. I have sunflower. In addition to these spices, you can add others to your taste. I have small garlic cloves, so I took 2 pieces. Sour cream is suitable for any fat content. I have 20%.
STEP 2
Wash the turkey fillet, dry it and cut into small pieces. What meat can you use besides turkey? Any. Chicken, beef, lamb or pork will do. But keep in mind that the calorie content and cooking time of the dish will change.
STEP 3
Peel the potatoes and cut into medium cubes. For information on potato varieties, see the article at the end of the recipe under the steps.
STEP 4
Peel the carrots and cut into small cubes.
STEP 5
Peel the onion and finely chop. If you or your children do not like onions, you can omit them altogether.
STEP 6
Rinse the dill, shake off moisture and finely chop. If you wish, you can replace or supplement with other herbs, for example, parsley, cilantro, green onions, or use a mixture of different herbs.
STEP 7
In a bowl, combine sour cream, pressed garlic and dill. Add salt and stir the sauce. If you wish, you can add a pinch of ground coriander.
STEP 8
Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over high heat. Read about how to choose the perfect frying pan, as well as how to choose the right vegetable oil, in separate articles, links at the end of the recipe. Place the turkey in the frying pan and fry, stirring, for 5-7 minutes until golden brown. The exact roasting time depends on your technique and personal preference.
STEP 9
Add onions and carrots to turkey. Fry everything together, stirring, for about 5 minutes.
STEP 10
Add potatoes and spices to the pan and stir.
STEP 11
Reduce heat to low. Pour hot water into the pan. Next add sour cream sauce. Stirring, bring everything to a boil. For information about the features of stewing in sour cream sauce, see the article at the end of the recipe under the steps.
STEP 12
Simmer the turkey and potatoes over low heat, covered, for 20-25 minutes or longer until the potatoes are tender.
STEP 13
Sprinkle the stewed turkey with potatoes in sour cream sauce with fresh herbs and serve. Bon appetit!
