Potato gnocchi with chicken
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
I washed the potatoes well to remove any dirt and set them to cook in salted water until tender. The finished potatoes were in their jackets, peeled and grated on a fine grater. I washed the chicken fillet well under running water and set it to cook. I finely chopped the boiled chicken fillet.
STEP 2
I combined finely grated potatoes and finely chopped chicken fillet together. To them I added two eggs, 150 g of sifted flour, nutmeg and salt to taste. Mixed all ingredients well.
STEP 3
Place the mixture on a floured surface and divide it into parts to make it easier to work with the dough. Roll out each piece of dough into a sausage and cut into small pieces. I rolled each piece into a ball and made a hole in the middle with my finger, dipping my finger into the flour each time to prevent the dough from sticking.
STEP 4
I cooked the gnocchi in boiling water, salted to taste, adding vegetable oil to prevent them from sticking. Cooked for 1.5-2 minutes until they floated to the surface. I left the cooked gnocchi in a plate, uncovered, so that they dried out a little from the water, this would allow me to fry them carefully.
STEP 5
After the gnocchi was cooked, I fried it until beautifully golden brown on both sides in vegetable oil in a preheated frying pan. During the frying process, I added a little butter (it gives a nutty flavor). Important! Do not immediately turn the gnocchi in the pan, let them brown a little, otherwise they will fall apart.
STEP 6
After frying, the gnocchi is ready. Serve them hot. You can safely replace the chicken meat with any other meat you like or replace it with fried mushrooms. After frying, you don’t have to sprinkle it with cheese, but simply season it with fried onions. Hope you like it. Bon appetit!
