Potato balls with cheese in a frying pan, deep-fried
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to deep fry potato balls with mashed cheese? Start cooking with sauces. They will just sit while you prepare the balls. You can just take ready-made store-bought ones. But homemade tastes better.
STEP 2
For the first sauce, wash the tomatoes, cut them in half and grate them on a fine grater, cutting off the skin. In a bowl, combine the tomato pulp, chopped cilantro, pressed garlic, suneli hops, salt and pepper. Mix everything and let the sauce brew.
STEP 3
For the second sauce you will need sour cream of any fat content.
STEP 4
In a bowl, combine sour cream, garlic cloves passed through a press, chopped cilantro and salt. Stir until smooth. The sauce is ready.
STEP 5
Now you can start preparing potato balls. The finished mashed potatoes should be 450-500 g, so take extra potatoes.
STEP 6
Prepare mashed potatoes in advance. To do this, peel the potatoes, cut into large or medium cubes (but not small) and boil in boiling salted water until tender. Then drain the water and mash the potatoes with a masher. Cool the puree.
STEP 7
Add 1 egg and 90 g of sifted flour to the mashed potatoes. Mix the mixture thoroughly and leave for 10-15 minutes until it thickens.
STEP 8
Cut the cheese into 1.5x1.5 cm cubes. Take any cheese, the main thing is that it is of high quality, tasty and melts well. I have mozzarella for pizza.
STEP 9
Using slightly damp hands, roll the mashed potatoes into balls about the size of a walnut. If the mixture is too fluid and does not stick together, add more flour to it. Flatten each ball into a small cake. Place a piece of cheese in the center of the flatbread and form into an even ball so that the cheese is inside.
STEP 10
Break the remaining egg into a bowl. Add the remaining flour, pour in the milk. Whisk everything until smooth.
STEP 11
First dip each ball into the beaten egg.
STEP 12
Then bread in breadcrumbs. If you wish, you can dip it in the egg again and roll in breadcrumbs. My breading immediately adhered to the balls in a fairly thick layer.
STEP 13
Heat vegetable oil in a saucepan over medium heat. There should be enough oil to completely cover the balls. Drop a few potato balls into boiling oil and deep fry until golden brown. Place the finished balls on a napkin to drain excess fat.
STEP 14
Serve the mashed potato balls with cheese immediately with the previously prepared sauces. Bon appetit!
