  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to stew pork ribs with potatoes in a cauldron? Prepare your food. Rinse the ribs first under cold water and dry with paper towels. Then cut them into pieces of two or three ribs. You can use less oil, depending on the fat content of the ribs. I took only pepper and bay leaf, you can add any spices at your discretion.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Wash and peel the potatoes. Then dry it well. This is important because wet potatoes will splatter as they fry.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Peel the onion. Cut it into quarter rings.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Peel the carrots and cut into large circles.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Place the cauldron on the stove and turn up the heat to high. Pour oil into a cauldron and heat it. Carefully place the potatoes into the cauldron. Fry it for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Then remove the potatoes with a slotted spoon.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Place the ribs in the cauldron. Fry them over high heat until golden brown on both sides. Then take them out.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Place onions and carrots in oil. Fry the vegetables for 5 minutes, stirring them, until golden.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Return the meat to the cauldron, fry it with vegetables for 3 minutes. Pour in boiling water until the water completely covers the ribs. It is important to add hot water so that the meat does not become tough due to temperature changes. Add pepper, bay leaf and salt. Reduce heat, cover the cauldron with a lid. Simmer the meat for 40 minutes.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

After the allotted time, some of the water will boil away. Place potatoes and garlic on meat. Cover the cauldron again and leave for 20 minutes.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Then mix the meat and potatoes. Turn off the heat, cover the cauldron and leave the meat for 10 minutes. Serve the ribs with potatoes hot, sprinkled with herbs.

I made pork ribs with potatoes in a cauldron for lunch. What a delicious dish! My potatoes were large, so I cut each potato into 4-6 pieces, fried them in a cauldron in vegetable oil, then put them in a bowl. And I placed the ribs in the cauldron and fried them as well. Last I fried the onions and carrots. When the vegetables became soft, I placed the ribs in the cauldron and kept them all together on the fire for a while. Then I added boiling water, salt and bay leaf (I did not add peppercorns). I stewed pork with vegetables for 40 minutes. After that, I added potatoes and chopped garlic and cooked for another 20 minutes. What a scent! The ribs with potatoes turned out very tasty! The meat became soft, as did the potatoes, all in a delicious, aromatic gravy that perfectly emphasized the taste of the meat. Thank you very much for the recipe! I will cook with it again! And I recommend it to everyone!
