  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to fry pies without yeast using kefir in a frying pan? Prepare all the necessary ingredients for the pies. All foods stored in the refrigerator must be removed from it in advance so that they are at room temperature. Beat a chicken egg into a bowl, add salt and sugar and stir with a whisk until the chicken egg disperses and the sugar and salt dissolve. Wash the egg with baking soda first, as it may contain harmful bacteria.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Pour in kefir (it’s better to warm it up a little so that the lactic bacteria contained in it become more active). For such baking, kefir should be used that is fatty and not very fresh; the longer it sits, the more lactic acid is formed in it, which in turn will better extinguish the soda and, therefore, the more fluffy the pies will be from such dough. But, of course, a completely old and spoiled product cannot be used for food even in this form.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Add sour cream and stir. Pour in vegetable oil. It is necessary so that the dough becomes elastic and does not tear when forming pies.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Add some of the sifted wheat flour, add soda, stir and leave the mixture for 10 minutes for an alkaline reaction to occur. This is the main secret of preparing airy dough without using yeast. Soda must be added when some of the flour has already been introduced into the dough, then the alkaline reaction with kefir will go directly into the flour, raising the dough.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Next, add the remaining sifted wheat flour and knead into an elastic, smooth dough. Wrap it in cling film and leave it on the counter for half an hour. Since flour from different manufacturers has different properties, you may need a little less or more of it, depending on the consistency of the dough.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

How to make filling for pies without yeast using kefir? Both sweet and non-sweet fillings are suitable for this dough. Delicious pies are made with cabbage filling. Peel the white cabbage from the top leaves, cut out the stalk, chop the cabbage finely with a knife, or you can chop it with a blender.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Beat a chicken egg into a bowl with cabbage and add a couple of tablespoons of sour cream and salt to taste. Stir. The filling is ready.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Divide the dough into 10 equal pieces, roll them into small cakes.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Place the filling in the center of each flatbread and seal the edges together to form a pie.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Pour vegetable oil into a frying pan and heat it. Fry the pies over medium heat for 3-5 minutes, until golden brown on both sides. Serve the pies at the table with tea, coffee or milk. Bon appetit!

I wanted some pies for lunch, and then I came across a very interesting recipe for pies without yeast on kefir in a frying pan, so I decided to make them. The kefir just sat in the refrigerator for several days, as the recipe said, so that there was more lactic acid in the product. I kneaded the dough from kefir, sour cream, eggs and flour, adding salt, sugar and soda. The dough turned out to be slightly sticky; you need to add flour when rolling it out. The consistency is soft, does not tear, and molds well. I used cabbage and minced chicken to fill the pies. Some pies are oval, with cabbage, others are round, with minced meat. I didn’t put an egg in the cabbage, I just simmered it in a saucepan for a couple of minutes. Fry it in a frying pan, covered, with a little oil, over low heat. They fry quickly, the dough rises well when frying. The finished pies turned out golden brown, with a very tender dough and juicy filling. I have never eaten such delicious pies. Apparently, due to the eggs and sour cream, the dough just melts in your mouth. It took about an hour to fry all the pies, and from this amount of food we got 13 pies, of a good size. This recipe is a great option for a tasty snack or lunch; it will be very helpful if you suddenly run out of yeast, and you are used to making pies from yeast dough, because it is soft. This is the perfect yeast-free dough for fried pies, I found it))))). Only next time I will cook more, these pies fly away very quickly, they are so tender and tasty. I definitely recommend this recipe for delicious pies and will add it to my treasure chest.
