  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to cook pea soup with beef? Prepare the indicated products. Use dried peas, sold loose or in packages, rather than fresh. Wash the potatoes and carrots and peel them. Peel the onion. Place vegetables in a container of water.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Rinse the peas in several waters, then pour warm water in a deep bowl (the water should be about 2 cm higher) and leave for 40 minutes to swell.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Clean the beef from films and veins, rinse thoroughly in running water and cut into small pieces.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Place the beef in a saucepan or saucepan, add 3 bay leaves and add hot water until it covers the meat. Boil for 40 minutes on medium heat. When boiling, remove any foam that has formed with a slotted spoon. Do not salt the water! Read how to choose a pan for cooking in a separate article at the end of the recipe.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Place the swollen peas into a saucepan with a thick bottom. Add baking soda there - do not increase the portion under any circumstances, otherwise the peas will “draw in” its unpleasant taste. Pour in enough water to lightly cover the peas, bring to a boil, and cook for 5 minutes on low heat. Carefully monitor the contents of the container - foam will form abundantly, which must be removed in a timely manner.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

After this, turn off the heat and drain the peas in a colander and rinse. Thanks to the soda, the surface of the legumes will soften. Rinse the pan and pour back the washed peas. By this time the beef will be cooked. Add it along with the broth from the pan to the cauldron, removing the bay leaves - they have already given their aroma to the broth.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Cut the potatoes into medium pieces, and the onion and carrots into small pieces. Add to the pan.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Pour in warm water (the amount of water depends on whether you want the soup thick or thin), add salt and ground black pepper to taste, and add 2 bay leaves. Bring to a boil and cook the first dish over medium heat for about 20 minutes (until the potatoes are ready). At the very end of cooking, add chopped parsley or dill, you can add dried thyme (thyme, savory).

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Pour pea soup with beef and potatoes into plates or bowls, garnish with fresh herbs and serve. This first course is very tasty served with garlic croutons, black or rye bread, sour cream or mayonnaise. Bon appetit!

For my taste, the most delicious pea soup is made with smoked ribs.

The pea soup with beef turned out great: aromatic, rich, with a rich taste. I always soak peas before cooking, but I have never boiled them separately, especially with soda. But thanks to this method, the peas boiled perfectly. I had beef on the bone. After 40 minutes of cooking the broth, I removed the meat from her and sent it back to the broth. The beef was cooked perfectly, soft and tender. The beef broth soup turned out very appetizing. Its taste is harmonious, none of the ingredients stands out from the others. Thank you very much for the wonderful recipe!

After the festive feasts you really want the first dish. I made pea soup with beef: aromatic, filling and very tasty! I washed the peas several times until the water became clear. Boil the peas and meat until tender, add diced potatoes and lightly fried onions and carrots. At the end I added chopped dill. Thanks to the author for the recipe! Delicious!
