  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to fry pangasius in a grill pan? First, remove the fish from the freezer and leave it at room temperature to defrost.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Pat defrosted fish with paper towels on all sides to remove excess moisture.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Place pangasius on a large flat plate or tray. Using a silicone brush, coat the fish on both sides with oil and then sprinkle with dry seasonings. I used garlic powder, fish seasoning and ground red paprika. Add salt to taste.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

While the fish is marinating, prepare all other ingredients. Wash lemon, pepper and herbs in cold water. Peel the garlic and onion and rinse. Cut the bell pepper in half, remove the core and seeds. If possible, use brightly colored peppers to make the finished dish look more appetizing.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Cut the lemon into two halves, cut the onion into semicircles, chop the bell pepper, parsley and garlic as finely as possible.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Place the grill pan on the stove and heat it up. The fillet can be fried whole, but it will be more convenient if you cut it into two parts. So, place the fish in a frying pan, reduce the flame to medium and cook until an appetizing golden color appears (this will take about two minutes or a little more).

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Carefully turn the pangasius pieces over and top with some garlic, bell pepper and parsley.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Lightly press down the fish with a spatula and hold for a few seconds. Next, fry until done.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Sprinkle each piece of fish with the juice of half a freshly squeezed lemon.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Rinse the arugula and dry with paper towels. You can use green lettuce, field lettuce, iceberg, etc. Add a few onion rings. Place the pangasius fillet on the greens, garnish with lemon wedges and serve.

I always cook pangasius fillet in a frying pan in batter; children readily eat it because there are no bones in it. But I didn’t just fry it in a frying pan, and it was so unusual. I cut the fish into portions and marinated it for a couple of hours. I also fried it on a grill pan, it turned out beautiful stripes) Not everyone likes garlic here, so I did without it. But I didn’t spare any different spices) In addition to red and black pepper, I added dried dill and parsley, smoked paprika and lemon juice. The fish was soaked with all this richness and became aromatic) At first I didn’t understand why the fish should be lubricated with oil, but then when frying it became clear that this is the best way to fry the pieces. There is no need to pour excess oil into the frying pan; the fish fries perfectly thanks to the marinade. Pangasius turned out great! The fish is bright, aromatic, the tender meat has a pleasant pungency to the taste, but not hot. I didn’t even expect that this dish would be the first to leave the festive table, because we love river fish) Now I know how to cook pangasius deliciously! Thank you very much for this recipe, it turned out amazingly delicious!
