Oatmeal with pumpkin and milk

STEP 1

How to cook oatmeal with pumpkin in milk? Prepare your food. You can take any cereal - both quick-cooking and long-cooking. Only the cooking time will depend on this. In addition to milk, water is suitable as a liquid component; you can use a mixture - part milk, part water. The weight of the pumpkin is given after cleaning.
STEP 2

Peel the pumpkin from peel and seeds. Cut the pulp into cubes. The result will depend on their size - the small ones will boil, the large ones will remain intact.
STEP 3

Place a thick-bottomed saucepan on low heat - this is important so that the porridge does not burn. Place chopped pumpkin in it, add sugar and salt. Lightly stir-fry the pumpkin until the sugar melts and is lightly caramelized.
STEP 4

Then pour water into it (or milk, if you cook only with it). Wait until it boils, reduce the heat, and cover the saucepan with a lid. Cook the pumpkin for 5-8 minutes until soft, depending on the size and variety. The pieces should break easily with a spoon.
STEP 5

When this happens, pour in the milk. Wait until it boils again, add oatmeal. Stir, turn the heat to low.
STEP 6

Cook the porridge, stirring, with the lid open, according to the time indicated on the cereal package. You can adjust the thickness with the amount of milk - if the porridge seems too thick, add a little more. Boil porridge that is too thin for longer. Add a piece of butter to the prepared porridge and stir. Turn off the heat, cover the saucepan with a lid and leave the porridge to stand for 5 minutes.

Serve the porridge to the table. Bon appetit!
