  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to cook oatmeal with pumpkin in milk? Prepare your food. You can take any cereal - both quick-cooking and long-cooking. Only the cooking time will depend on this. In addition to milk, water is suitable as a liquid component; you can use a mixture - part milk, part water. The weight of the pumpkin is given after cleaning.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Peel the pumpkin from peel and seeds. Cut the pulp into cubes. The result will depend on their size - the small ones will boil, the large ones will remain intact.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Place a thick-bottomed saucepan on low heat - this is important so that the porridge does not burn. Place chopped pumpkin in it, add sugar and salt. Lightly stir-fry the pumpkin until the sugar melts and is lightly caramelized.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Then pour water into it (or milk, if you cook only with it). Wait until it boils, reduce the heat, and cover the saucepan with a lid. Cook the pumpkin for 5-8 minutes until soft, depending on the size and variety. The pieces should break easily with a spoon.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

When this happens, pour in the milk. Wait until it boils again, add oatmeal. Stir, turn the heat to low.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Cook the porridge, stirring, with the lid open, according to the time indicated on the cereal package. You can adjust the thickness with the amount of milk - if the porridge seems too thick, add a little more. Boil porridge that is too thin for longer. Add a piece of butter to the prepared porridge and stir. Turn off the heat, cover the saucepan with a lid and leave the porridge to stand for 5 minutes.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Serve the porridge to the table. Bon appetit!

For breakfast today we had oatmeal with pumpkin. I peeled the pumpkin, washed it, put it in a plastic bag, wrapped it tightly and put it in the microwave for three minutes. For my pumpkin, this was enough for it to cook. I mashed it with a fork. I mixed the pumpkin with oatmeal (I used instant oats) and added water. Since the family doesn’t like oatmeal with milk, I added a little salt and sugar. I cooked porridge. When serving, sprinkle with crushed walnuts. The taste turned out very interesting, everyone liked it. Thank you for the delicious breakfast recipe!

I also added nuts to this oatmeal with pumpkin for taste. I diluted the milk a little with water to make the taste more creamy. I liked it very much, thank you! Previously, I cooked pumpkin porridge exclusively with millet.
