Oatmeal cookies with cranberries

Give oatmeal cookies a new twist of flavor! The cookies turn out very fragrant and crumbly. In fact, these are not even oatmeal cookies, which we are so accustomed to, but just cookies, but with oatmeal and cranberries. It's very tasty, I hope you like it too!

Step-by-step preparation

Cooking timeCooking time: 50 mins
  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

First, take 50 g of butter, 3 tbsp. l. sugar and oatmeal.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Melt butter and sugar in a frying pan.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Add oatmeal and fry until golden brown, stirring from time to time.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

While the flakes are roasting, chop the cranberries.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

These are the flakes you get.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Now beat the remaining 150 g of butter with powdered sugar.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Add the egg, vanilla extract and milk, beat again until smooth.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Sift the flour with baking powder and add to the butter mixture. It’s better not to add all the flour at once; set aside half a glass and add it, if necessary, at the very end of kneading the dough.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Mix the cranberries with 1/3 of the oatmeal and add to the dough.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Mix everything, if the dough is still too sticky, add the remaining flour.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

Roll the dough into small balls and roll in the remaining toasted cereal. I got about 30 pieces, but you can make more. Place the cookies at a distance from each other; in the oven they will expand slightly and “float” a little. To make the cookies lose their shape less during baking, place the formed cookies in the refrigerator for 30 minutes before baking (I put them in the freezer for 10 minutes, during which time I preheat the oven).

  12. STEP 12

    STEP 12

Bake the cookies at 180 C for about 15-20 minutes, they should become golden.

  13. STEP 13

    STEP 13

Let the cookies cool and serve with tea. Bon appetit!

Interesting and unique cookie recipe. And if we talk about its usefulness... oat flakes alone and together with cranberries make a very healthy bouquet. I really liked the cookies, thank the author for the wonderful recipe. I will continue to bake it sometimes, because... tasty, cheap and exclusive.

Thanks for the recipe! I baked it today. The cookies are very tasty and easy to prepare. Sorry I can't add a photo. True, the whole fried oatmeal was dumped into the dough and there was nothing to roll it in. Therefore, some of the cookies were rolled in sesame seeds. Conclusions: sesame seeds are superfluous, cookies are self-sufficient. Next time I’ll soak the dried cranberries a little in rum or cognac; they were a bit dry in the cookies. Where the cranberries got moisture, they burst on the tongue. Took KK.

I forgot to write that I replaced some of the wheat flour with whole grain flour. While I was writing this comment, there were noticeably fewer cookies.
