Mannik with milk without flour
The manna turns out loose, crumbly and very tasty! If you love manna cakes, this is a must-cook.
Of all the manna recipes that I have prepared (with kefir, sour cream, water), this one is perhaps the most successful. It turns out quite moist and at the same time crumbly and light. With a light vanilla aroma. The perfect combination. The main thing is to keep the semolina in milk longer before baking so that it swells well. If you keep less, the manna will not be so fluffy and airy.
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1

Prepare the ingredients. For manna with milk without flour we will need: semolina, milk, sugar, eggs, butter, baking powder and vanillin (can be replaced with vanilla sugar or vanilla essence).
STEP 2

Combine semolina with sugar and mix.
STEP 3

Warm the milk slightly.
STEP 4

Pour warm milk over the semolina with sugar, stir and leave to swell for at least 50 minutes.
STEP 5

Break the eggs into the swollen semolina mass. Mix everything with a whisk until smooth.
STEP 6

Melt the butter and mix with the rest of the mixture.
STEP 7

Add baking powder and vanilla and mix again.
STEP 8

Place the dough in a greased baking dish. Bake in an oven preheated to 180°C for about 35 minutes.

I prepared it for 10 servings and used a baking dish with a diameter of 18 cm. I replaced the baking powder with soda, put in half as much and quenched it with vinegar. The manna rose well, the dough is tender) thank you for the recipe! I'm glad that there is no flour in the composition 👍🏻🌸

Mannik seems okay, but it seems like there’s not enough sugar. My oven doesn’t take 35 minutes, I set it to 45

Maria, thank you for the recipe, it turned out EXCELLENT! I just decided to add raisins to the dough, but for some reason they sank to the bottom. Please tell me what can be done to prevent this from happening?

Maria, today I made manna again according to your recipe. As always, it turned out VERY tasty. This time I added raisins and finely chopped dried apricots. The mannik turned out to be crumbly, with a delicious crispy crust, because I think it was left in the oven a little))) This time I’m posting a photo report. Thanks for the recipe!!!
