Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1

We defrost and gut the mackerel, cut off the head; if you want to salt it with the head, be sure to remove the gills.
STEP 2

Prepare the brine, mix all the ingredients (except the fish) and bring to a boil. Let the brine cool and infuse.
STEP 3

We strain and fill our fish. Salt the fish for 2-3 days, turning it several times in the brine. Dry the finished fish from the brine, cut it and serve. Bon appetit!

Irisha, I salt mackerel almost the same way. When processing the fish, I make sure to remove the black film in the abdomen - it gives off bitterness. I don’t use tea: cheap tea has a lot of dye, but expensive tea shares its aroma with the fish. I add mustard seeds to your spices. Each housewife tries the recipe and then adjusts it to her taste. We eat within a day. But in any case, the fish turns out to be lightly salted and simply delicious.
