Kimbap Korean rolls

Cheaper, faster, easier and tastier than in restaurants. Kimbap are Korean rolls that are made in the same way as the familiar Japanese rolls, only without the addition of raw fish. Vegetables, omelette, sausages, tofu, and crab sticks are used as filling.

  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make kimbap Korean rolls? Prepare your food. The recipe is designed for two rolls, which are cut into 8 small ones. For larger servings, increase ingredients. Take regular round rice, not steamed. Instead of rice vinegar, you can use regular table vinegar diluted with water. The article at the end of this recipe will help you understand the intricacies of choosing rice.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

First of all, boil the rice. To do this, first rinse it well. Then fill with clean cold water so that it is about two fingers higher than the level of the rice. Place the saucepan on the stove over medium heat. Cook the rice until the water is completely absorbed. When cooking, do not stir it. Mix rice vinegar with salt and sugar. Pour the mixture into hot rice and stir. Cool the rice completely.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

For the filling I took crab sticks. Clean them from the film. cut each stick lengthwise into 4 pieces.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

First cut the cucumber into thin slices, which then cut lengthwise into long strips.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Chop the carrots in the same way.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Take a rolling mat. Place a sheet of nori on it, rough side up. Wetting your hands in cold water, spread the rice onto the sheet in a thin layer, leaving a 2 cm wide strip on the top side free.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Place the filling in the center - strips of cucumber, crab sticks, carrots. Roll the lettuce leaves into a tube. I took a chopped salad mix and rolled the pieces in the same way.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Helping yourself with a mat, roll the sheet into a tight roll. Brush the edge without rice with water and seal.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Cut the resulting roll into 8 pieces with a sharp knife.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Serve the rolls with soy sauce. Bon appetit!

I decided to pamper my son and prepared kimbap Korean rolls. There is nothing complicated in preparation, but it turns out very tasty! The only thing is that I didn’t use carrots and used cream cheese. I took the rice in bags, boiled it, cooled it, and put it on a plate. Added salt, sugar, rice vinegar and stirred. I cut the cucumber and crab sticks into strips. Place the nori sheet on the rolling mat, rough side up. Lay out the rice in a thin layer, wetting your hands with cold water. I laid out the curd cheese in a strip, with cucumber and crab sticks on top. Rolled it up and cut it into rolls with a knife. Of course, it didn’t turn out as smooth and beautiful as the author’s, but it was very tasty! Thanks katushafin for the recipe and I recommend you try it 😊

I really love rolls, but I haven’t made them for a long time. I saw a recipe for kimbap Korean rolls, and I really wanted to make them. I also added spinach, ham and omelette to the filling. How delicious it turned out! Thank you very much for the recipe!
