Dishes with nori
Nori seaweed is washed in fresh water and dried in the sun, laid out on special wooden or bamboo frames. These seaweed smell like cabbage and taste like spinach. Gourmets also note the subtle smoky flavor and light aroma of the ocean in nori seaweed. Dark shiny algae is much tastier than reddish ones. They contain a lot of protein, vitamins and other useful minerals. We don't often cook this exotic seaweed at home, so there are many different points of view on how to properly prepare nori seaweed. For example, there are recipes with nori that advise boiling them and then frying them in a pan, adding bacon. Nori seaweed is sold in the form of dried square briquettes. Before eating nori, you must first soak it in cold water and wait for these thin briquettes to swell. At the same time, they can almost double in volume. After this, the nori seaweed must be washed, boiled a little and sprinkled with pepper. Nori prepared in this way is considered a side dish. You can add a little vinegar to the water for cooking nori seaweed - it will be much tastier. You can also see mini sheets of nori seaweed on sale. In Japan, they are used to wrap breakfast rice in them. Often these leaves are already fried or soaked in soy sauce. Nori for sushi in traditional Japanese cuisine is mainly used for wrapping ingredients. This seaweed is also good for making rice balls and rice cakes - mochi. Crushed or shredded nori seaweed is also used to decorate soba noodle dishes.
