Jellied pie with cheese in the oven with kefir
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to make jellied pie with cheese in the oven using kefir? Prepare your food. It is better to take the kefir and egg out of the refrigerator in advance so that they warm up to room temperature - then the pie will rise better. Depending on the quality of flour, you may need a little more or a little less. You can read more about flour and its properties in a separate article, link at the end of the recipe.
STEP 2
Grate the cheese on a medium grater. Any cheese is suitable for this dish - hard, semi-hard, soft, such as mozzarella. The main thing is that it is tasty, of high quality, without milk fat substitutes and melts well.
STEP 3
Wash the greens, dry well and chop finely. You can use any greens you like or have on hand. I have young cilantro, dill and green onions work well.
STEP 4
Pour kefir into a bowl, add salt and a pinch of sugar - it will balance the taste. Beat in the egg.
STEP 5
Stir the liquid portion with a fork until smooth. Pour grated cheese and chopped herbs into it. Leave some of the cheese (about 1/4) for the top of the pie. Stir again.
STEP 6
Sift the flour into a bowl - this will not only remove any possible debris, but also saturate it with oxygen, which will make the baked goods fluffier and airier. Do not add all the flour at once, start with 2/3 of the total volume. Then you will add more if necessary. Add baking powder to the flour. Read about all the nuances of working with baking powder in a separate article, link at the end of the recipe.
STEP 7
Stir the dough. If it turns out to be too liquid, add more flour; if it is too stiff, pour in a little kefir. The dough should become a little thicker in consistency than for pancakes. It took me less flour.
STEP 8
Take a suitable baking dish. Mine is 23*14*6 cm in size. Lubricate it with a drop of vegetable oil. Pour the dough into the mold and smooth the top.
STEP 9
Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top of the pie.
STEP 10
Place the pie dish in the oven, preheated to 180°C. Bake the pie for 35-45 minutes. The exact time will depend on your oven and the size of the cake. Focus on the appearance - it will rise well and become golden. Mine baked for 45 minutes.
STEP 11
Cool the finished pie slightly, cut into pieces and serve. Bon appetit!
