STEP 1

How to cook oatmeal porridge with milk? Prepare all the necessary products. Study the rolled oats packaging indicating the cooking time. Milk can be any fat content you like. In addition to regular animal milk, you can also use plant milk. The amount of sugar and salt is to your taste.
STEP 2

Prepare a saucepan with a thick bottom. You need to cook milk porridge in such a container so that it does not burn. Pour milk and water into the pan. A little water helps preserve the fat content of the milk, as some liquid evaporates during the cooking process.
STEP 3

Over medium heat, stirring constantly to avoid burning, bring the milk to a boil.
STEP 4

Add rolled oats in small portions and stir constantly so that the flakes are evenly distributed and do not settle to the bottom.
STEP 5

Add a pinch of salt and stir. If you are making sweet porridge, add sugar.
STEP 6

Cook the porridge over medium heat for 5-20 minutes. The exact time depends on the type of oatmeal, check the packaging. If you feel that the porridge is too thin, do not rush to add flakes. After evaporation, the oatmeal porridge will become a little thicker.
STEP 7

When the porridge is ready, add butter to the pan. Stir to distribute the melted butter evenly throughout the porridge. Remove the pan from the heat, cover with a lid and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes.
