Compared to other ingredients, it should be much larger. Rinse the bell pepper thoroughly under running water, remove the stalks and seeds. Cut the pepper into rings or strips, as you like.

    Also wash the tomatoes and cut out the stem. Cut the tomatoes into halves, leaving the skin on. Pass the tomatoes through a meat grinder or blend with a blender until pureed.

    Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a boil, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat and simmer for about 10 minutes. Remove the resulting foam with a slotted spoon. Add prepared carrots and onions, stir. Simmer for about 25 minutes, stirring with a spoon. Add salt, sugar and vegetable oil. Stir again. Simmer for about 15 minutes more.

    Pour in the vinegar, let the vegetables boil and cook for about 5 minutes. Then remove the pan with vegetables from the heat.

    Place the salad jars in a large saucepan with water, the bottom of which is lined with a cloth, and sterilize them at the rate of 15 minutes per 500 ml jar. Cover the jars with lids.
