STEP 1
How to make General's classic salad with chicken? To begin, prepare all the necessary ingredients according to the list. You can use beets not only boiled, but also baked in the oven. Stores sell ready-boiled beets in vacuum packaging. Using store-bought beets will save you cooking time.
STEP 2
Wash the chicken fillet and boil in boiling salted water until tender, about 20 minutes. Then cool the chicken and cut into small cubes. Instead of boiled chicken, you can fry the fillet in a frying pan or bake it in the oven in foil. You can use smoked chicken instead of fresh chicken.
STEP 3
Boil the beets in their skins until tender. Grate on a coarse or medium grater.
STEP 4
Boil the carrots in their skins until tender. Grate on a coarse or medium grater.
STEP 5
Hard boil the eggs, cool and peel. Also grate. If you wish, you can separate the yolks and whites and grate them separately, forming two layers instead of one.

Also grate the cheese on a coarse or medium grater.

Wash the walnuts and dry them in a dry frying pan. Then finely chop the nuts with a knife. You can also chop the nuts in a blender.

Wash the dill, dry and finely chop. You can replace dill with parsley or other herbs to taste.

This salad looks very beautiful if you form it in layers. You can form it in one ring with a diameter of 16-18 cm or in small portioned rings with a diameter of 7-8 cm. Place a culinary ring on a plate. Place the chicken and press down. Pour mayonnaise on top. I put the mayonnaise into a piping bag and cut off the tip. It's more convenient than using a spoon.

Place the next layer of grated cheese and also pour over mayonnaise.
