How to make Shuba salad with mayonnaise? Prepare your ingredients. To prepare Shuba with mayonnaise (or herring with fur coat) we will need: lightly salted herring fillet

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Cut the herring fillet into small cubes.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Boil the potatoes in their skins. Then cool and peel. Grate the potatoes on a coarse grater.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Boil carrots in their skins. Then cool and peel. Grate the carrots on a coarse grater.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Boil the beets in their skins. I take already boiled peeled beets. But there is no risk of running into a low-quality product. Then cool and peel. Grate the beets using a coarse grater.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Hard boil the eggs, cool and peel. Also grate the eggs on a coarse grater.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Place in a deep salad bowl or on a flat dish in layers, coating each layer, except the herring, with mayonnaise: potatoes - herring - carrots - eggs - beets.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Lubricate the top of the beets with mayonnaise. Cover the salad bowl with cling film and place in the refrigerator overnight to soak.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Before serving, decorate the salad to taste. I garnished with dill sprigs, grated egg and remaining herring fillets. Bon appetit!

Previously, not a single holiday feast would be complete without “Herring under a Fur Coat,” but now this salad is prepared mainly on weekdays, but that doesn’t make us love it any less. The site has recipes with unusual presentation and ingredients, but I settled on this option because... In addition to the recipe, the author also talked about the origin of the salad; it was interesting to learn something new for myself. In our family it is not customary to add an egg, so we didn’t even use it as a decoration. Thank you, Maria, for a delicious dish.

Fur coat under mayonnaise - what would a New Year's table be without a fur coat?! Moreover, we haven’t eaten for a long time) I prepared a large fur coat for the table and a small fur coat in a bowl for work, since I work 24 hours on December 31st) I boiled vegetables and eggs in advance. I cooled, cleaned and grated everything coarsely into separate containers. I bought fresh lightly salted herring, cleaned it, took out the bones and finely chopped it. I also added onions on my own and laid them in a layer on top of the herring. I folded the salad in layers as described in the recipe, spreading the layers with mayonnaise. I peppered it a little. Decorated with herbs and left it in the refrigerator to steep overnight. This is one of the most delicious fish salads from the Soviet Union. The combination of boiled vegetables with salted fish is incredibly tasty, beautiful, satisfying and aromatic. It’s great to eat fur coat with mayonnaise with a slice of black bread, as an independent dish. The ideal proportion of all ingredients for this recipe. I especially like it when the top layer of mayonnaise is painted an unusual and simply stunning color. It turned out to be a beautiful and very appetizing dish. Many thanks to the author 😊 Happy New Year 🎄🎄🎄
