  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

First I prepared the filling. I peeled the potatoes and washed them well. Then she cut it into pieces, put it in a pan and filled it with water. Boil potatoes in salted water. Then I peeled the onions, cut them and fried them until soft and golden brown in vegetable oil. I poured the broth from the finished potatoes into a separate container, and I used it to prepare the dough. Mashed the finished potatoes. Added fried onions and mixed everything well. The filling is ready.

Then I started preparing the dough. I poured warm potato broth into a deep bowl, then added salt, sugar, fresh yeast, vegetable oil, and mixed the ingredients together with a spoon. Gradually added sifted flour to the prepared liquid mixture. And kneaded until it became a soft, slightly sticky dough. I kneaded the finished dough with sunflower oil and put it in a warm place to rise.

When the dough doubled in volume, I began to form the pies. Divided the finished lean dough in half, rolled each half into a rope, then divided it into pieces, rolled each piece into a ball. Rolled the balls into flat cakes. I placed the mashed potato filling in the middle. I brought the edges together and pinched them well into a boat shape.

I fried the pies in well-heated vegetable oil over moderate heat on both sides until golden brown. The oil level in the pan should reach halfway up the height of the pie. Before frying the pies, I checked the heating of the oil using a small piece of dough. When the piece is browned, you can start frying.

If you wish, the finished pies can be placed on a paper towel to remove excess oil (I did not do this), then transferred to a dish and can be served hot. I hope you like it! Bon appetit!
