STEP 1
How to fry mussels in a frying pan with onions? Prepare the ingredients according to the list. Mussels can be used either frozen or fresh. Instead of lemon, it is permissible to take lime. I used a package of frozen seafood for the recipe.
STEP 2
First, remove the mussels from the freezer and leave them at room temperature until completely thawed. To defrost faster, mussels can be placed in a colander and held under running cold water.
STEP 3
Peel the onion. Cut in half and rinse under running water. Cut the onion into thin half rings or quarter rings.
STEP 4
Heat a small amount of olive or refined vegetable oil in a frying pan with a thick bottom. Add the onion to the pan and cook, stirring until lightly golden brown. Make the flame slightly above medium.
STEP 5
Place defrosted mussels into the pan. Mix everything thoroughly using a wooden spatula. Continue cooking over medium heat until liquid appears. Next, turn down the heat slightly and simmer the mussels and onions for about five to seven minutes.
STEP 6
When the mussels begin to brown, add salt to taste and pepper with ground pepper. Mix everything carefully and remove the pan from the heat.
STEP 7
Mussels with onions in a frying pan are ready. When serving, sprinkle the dish with finely chopped herbs. Young green onions or dill are perfect. This time I have chives. Top with freshly squeezed lemon or lime juice.
STEP 8
Very tasty when served hot.
STEP 9
You can also offer mussels with onions as a cold appetizer with a glass of white wine.
