Fried catfish in a frying pan
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to fry catfish in a frying pan? Prepare your food. If you are using frozen fish, let it thaw thoroughly. It is better to do this gradually, transferring the fish from the freezer to the refrigerator on the bottom shelf. And wait until all the water drains from the fish. Then dry it thoroughly with a paper towel. You can use either store-bought or homemade breadcrumbs.
STEP 2
Place a frying pan over medium heat and pour a little vegetable oil on it. At this time, prepare the breading. How to make breading? Take 3 plates - break the egg into the first, add a mixture of flour and starch into the second, and breadcrumbs into the third. Add a little salt and spices to the flour and starch. Stir. Lightly beat the egg with a fork.
STEP 3
First roll the fish in the flour mixture, then dip it in the egg. Finally, coat the fish in breadcrumbs and place in a hot frying pan.
STEP 4
Fry the fish for 2-3 minutes over medium heat. There is no need to cover the pan with a lid to prevent the fish from steaming and falling apart when frying. If you are frying several portions, do not put them all in the pan at once; it is better to cook them separately so that the piece of catfish lies freely.
STEP 5
Then turn the fish over and fry on the other side for 2-3 minutes. Remove the finished fish from the pan and enjoy. You can have rice or potatoes as a side dish. Bon appetit!
