  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make fish aspic with gelatin? Prepare your food. Thaw the fish first if it is frozen. Clean and gut it if it is whole. You can use either whole or pieces. I have cod steaks. Take filtered or bottled water.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Place a pan of water on the fire and bring the water to a boil. Throw in the bay leaf, peppercorns, peeled whole onions and carrots. Place the fish. Bring to a boil, carefully skim off the foam with a slotted spoon. Add salt to taste. Reduce heat, cover the pan with a lid and leave to cook until the fish is done. Cooking time depends on what kind of fish you have and what size it is. Since I had pieces, I cooked for 40 minutes.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Remove the fish from the prepared broth. Discard the onion and leave the carrots, they will be used for decoration.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Pour a little broth (about 150 ml) into a glass and cool slightly. Dissolve gelatin in it.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Strain the remaining broth into another bowl.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Pour the dissolved gelatin into the broth and stir.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Pour some broth into the bottom of the container in which you plan to serve the aspic. Place in the refrigerator to let this layer harden.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Cut the fish into pieces, remove the skin and bones, if any.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

When the bottom layer has set, remove the plate from the refrigerator. Place the fish on top. Cut lemon, carrots, olives into beautiful pieces. Place them among the fish. Decorate with greens.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Carefully pour the broth on top through a strainer. Try to ensure that all products are covered. Place the aspic in the refrigerator to harden for an hour. Serve before eating. Bon appetit!
