  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

Let's take the products listed in the ingredients - start eating! Next, I will try to explain to you in detail how to cook pea soup with meat broth in Finnish style, so that everything works out for you.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Pour the peas into a small saucepan or deep bowl and rinse them thoroughly in several waters until transparent. After this, fill it with boiled warm water and leave it overnight.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

In the morning, boil smoked ribs and beef. To do this, pour 2 liters of cold water into a saucepan (so that there is a broth) and add salt to it. First add some ribs, let the broth boil, skim off the foam and cook the ribs for 30 minutes. After this, add the beef, bring to a boil again and skim off the foam so that the broth is clear. Cook the ribs and meat until done for an hour.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Remove the finished ribs and meat from the broth, let cool and finely chop the meat cut from the ribs and beef. Instead, add washed peas to the pan, which we soaked overnight. Bring all this to a boil, and cook for an hour and a half, stirring so that the peas do not burn.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

We make frying from onions and carrots. Peel and chop the onion, peel and grate the carrots on a coarse grater. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan. First, fry the carrots for 2 minutes while stirring, then add the onion and fry everything together over moderate heat for 5 minutes, do not forget to stir. You can add a tablespoon of flour to the frying.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Peel the potatoes, wash them and cut them into medium-sized cubes.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Add the potatoes to the pan with the peas, which by then will be soft. We added salt at the beginning of cooking to salt the meat, so taste the broth for salt and add more if necessary. We also add seasonings to taste. Let the soup boil, then return the chopped meat to the pan, mix everything and cook the soup until the potatoes are ready - this is about 10-15 minutes.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Fresh dill or parsley goes well with this dish - wash it and chop it finely. Turn off the finished soup and sprinkle with herbs.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

    Bon appetit!

For the first course I prepared pea soup with meat broth in Finnish style. My broth was chicken. The soup turned out delicious and rich. Easy to prepare. I soaked the peas for several hours before cooking. I did not add flour to the frying. About five minutes before the end of cooking, I added a bay leaf and dried parsley. And before turning it off, I added finely chopped garlic and closed the lid. Everyone at home liked the soup! Thanks for the recipe!

For lunch I made Finnish pea soup with meat broth. I cooked the broth with pork (I didn’t have beef). After an hour, I added peas to the broth, which I had soaked overnight the day before. After another hour, potatoes and fried vegetables - carrots and onions. For the first time I cooked frying with flour, I used a little of it. Sprinkle a thin layer of fried onions and carrots, stir and remove the pan from the heat. At the end of cooking, I added salt, bay leaf and dill to the soup (I crushed the frozen ones). The soup turned out very tasty! The peas boiled and turned into puree, the potatoes became soft and crumbly, so the soup came out quite thick and rich! My husband and I really liked it! Thank you very much for the recipe!
