  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

To prepare potato pancakes with cheese, you will need raw potatoes (weight indicated in peeled form), hard cheese, onions, full-fat sour cream, wheat flour, salt and ground black pepper.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Potatoes must be grated. If you grate on a coarse grater, the potato pancakes will be more textured and voluminous, but if you grate the potatoes on a fine grater, the finished dish will be more uniform and tender. In this case, the potatoes are grated on a coarse grater. Immediately after chopping the potatoes, add sour cream. This way it won't darken that much in the future.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Onions need to be peeled and chopped as finely as possible. Alternatively, the onion can also be grated on a fine grater or crushed into a paste using a blender.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Grate the hard cheese on a fine grater and add to the total mass. We also add wheat flour, salt, ground black pepper and mix the potato-cheese mass very thoroughly until it is as homogeneous as possible.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

You can do this with a tablespoon, but it is more effective to mix with your hands. This way the potato mixture will be perfectly mixed with flour, salt and cheese.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

The potato and cheese mixture is ready! Now all that remains is to fry the potato pancakes. To do this, heat the vegetable oil well in a frying pan, spoon the mixture into the hot oil and smooth it out a little on top, forming flat pancakes. Fry pancakes for 2-3 minutes on each side until beautifully browned.
