Donuts by leaps and bounds

Soft, airy, tender, delicious, a holiday every day! The yeast donuts according to this recipe look like donuts, but have a softer structure, a different taste and are fried in less oil. Children especially love them; they eat them with condensed milk, jam, sweet sauces, or just like that.

  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make delicious donuts with yeast at home? Very simple! To begin, prepare the necessary ingredients according to the list. Take premium flour. Fast-acting yeast is the type that is added directly to the flour. I use refined sunflower oil, but you can replace it with olive or other vegetable oil to taste.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Sift 300 g of flour into a bowl.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Add yeast, sugar and salt. Mix everything. What if your yeast is different? If you have pressed or dry yeast that needs to be activated with warm water, then mix the flour only with salt. Dissolve sugar and yeast in warm water and wait for a fluffy cap to appear. Also make a well in the flour and pour the yeast mixture and vegetable oil into it. And knead the dough. And then everything is according to the recipe.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Make a well in the flour. Pour warm water (37-40°C) and sunflower oil into the well. Knead with your hands into an elastic, soft, pliable dough. If it remains a little sticky after kneading, so be it. You can still add approx. 50 g flour after proofing.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Sprinkle flour on top of the finished dough to prevent it from getting too dry, and leave it warm under a towel for 1 hour to rise.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Pour the remaining 50 g of flour into the risen dough and knead again. You may need more or less flour. I needed less - about 20 g. I could have added more, but then the dough would have lost its fluffiness and elasticity. Therefore, focus not so much on the numbers in the recipe, but on the consistency of the dough.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Make a long sausage out of the dough and cut it into 10-12 equal pieces.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Roll each part into a small sausage with your hands and form donut-shaped donuts with a hole in the middle. You can make the donuts the usual round shape, then you just need to roll the balls into round cakes, shaped like cheesecakes.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan and fry the crumpets over medium heat for 3-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

If the oil starts to shoot too much, cover the frying pan with a lid. Place the finished crumpets on paper napkins to absorb excess fat.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

Cool the donuts slightly and sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired. Bon appetit!

Today I made crumpets with yeast. I needed exactly 300 grams of flour. I let the dough rise for a little over an hour. The dough turned out to be very pleasant to work with, soft, elastic, and does not stick to your hands. Divided the dough into 16 pieces. My donuts turned out small but fluffy. I fried them in a cast iron frying pan over a little less than medium heat for about a minute and a half on each side. The donuts turned out wonderful! They are very soft, rosy, tasty and aromatic. These crumpets are an excellent option for tea: they cook quickly enough and turn out amazingly appetizing. Maria, thank you very much for the recipe!
