Donuts on the water

Ruddy, soft, fluffy! For a great mood! Water donuts are made from lean yeast dough. They rise very well and are porous. They can be made sweet or, by reducing the amount of sugar, served instead of bread. It's also good to bake them in the oven.

  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make water-based crumpets fried in a frying pan? Measure out the required ingredients. Take odorless vegetable oil. Heat the water slightly. You can use fresh yeast instead of dry yeast. How to properly replace dry yeast with fresh yeast, read the article at the link at the end of the recipe.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

In a small bowl, combine the yeast, 1 tsp. sugar and about half the volume of warm water. Mix everything and leave for 10-12 minutes to activate the yeast. A lush “cap” will appear on the surface.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

In a large bowl with high sides, combine the yeast mass, the remaining warm water, sugar and salt. Stir until smooth. With the specified amount of sugar, the crumpets turn out moderately sweet. Add a little more sugar if desired.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

    Pour in vegetable oil, stir.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Sift about ¾ of the flour into a bowl. The flour must be sifted to saturate it with oxygen. The dough will rise well and the baked goods will turn out fluffy and airy. Do not pour out all the flour at once, as you may need less of it than indicated in the recipe. Stir the dough with a spoon first. Read about the properties of flour at the end of this recipe.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Add the rest of the flour in small portions while mixing the dough. Focus not on the amount of flour, but on the consistency of the dough.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

The dough turns out homogeneous, soft, pliable, slightly sticking to your hands. Cover the bowl with the dough with a towel and leave in a warm place for 70-80 minutes to rise.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

The dough has increased in volume by 2.5 times.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Gently knead the dough and place it on a table sprinkled with flour. I divided the dough into 2 parts. Roll out the dough into a layer.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Using cookie cutters, cut out different shapes from the dough. Immediately remove the cut out figures from the dough layer, as the yeast dough rises and quickly connects to the contours.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan and place the figures cut out from the dough. Fry the crumpets over moderate heat until golden brown on one side. How to choose a frying pan and oil for frying, read the separate articles at the end of this recipe.

  12. STEP 12

    STEP 12

Then turn over to the other side and fry until done.

  13. STEP 13

    STEP 13

Cool the finished donuts without eggs on water and yeast or serve warm with jam, condensed milk or jam. Bon appetit!

I made water donuts for breakfast. These donuts contain the simplest and most commonly available products. The dough turned out firm, but soft and elastic. It took me about 30 minutes. I covered the bowl with the dough with a towel, and it dried out a little on top. So it’s probably better to cover it with cling film in contact. The dough rolls out very easily. It's completely non-sticky, so I didn't even have to flour my work surface. I cut out the blanks for the donuts using a glass with a diameter of 5.5 cm. I divided the dough into two parts. I fried the crumpets from one part in a frying pan in oil, and baked the crumpets from the second half of the dough in an oven preheated to 180 degrees. In a frying pan, I fried the crumpets for one minute on each side over a slightly less than medium heat. The crumpets were baked in the oven for about 13 minutes. About the seventh minute of baking, I turned them over. In total, I got 31 crumpets. The fried crumpets turned out more rosy and soft. Donuts from the oven are a little tougher, but apparently have less calories. Both of them are quite lush. Their taste is neutral (I added three tablespoons of sugar instead of two), a little like bread. I served these crumpets with sour cream and red caviar. Thank you very much for the recipe!

Appetizing and beautiful crumpets fried in a frying pan won our heart! If you do not add sugar and powdered sugar, this will be an excellent alternative to bread. Such donuts are served with first courses, second courses, tea, and just like that. They are ideal for the Lenten table. Even the next day, the eggless crumpets did not lose their freshness. Thanks for the recipe!
