  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make cottage cheese pies in the oven with apples? Prepare your food. First for the test. Choose natural butter and cottage cheese, without additives in the form of vegetable fats. Any fat content of cottage cheese is suitable, I used 5%. I do not recommend using grained cottage cheese, the dough will not work with it. Remove the butter from the refrigerator in advance; it should become soft.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

How to make dough for cottage cheese pies? Take a bowl, put soft butter in it, add sugar. Using a fork, mash the ingredients until completely combined. You don’t even need a mixer here, everything will mix perfectly without one.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Add the egg and cottage cheese to the butter mixture and mash everything well again with a fork.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

You will get such a homogeneous thin mass.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

In a separate bowl, mix flour with baking powder and salt.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Sift the resulting mixture into a bowl with the curd dough base. Do not ignore sifting, this will not only remove possible debris, but also saturate the flour with oxygen, which will make the baked goods softer and airier. It may take you more or less flour than it did for me.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Knead the dough. Mix it first with a spoon and then with your hands. Due to the oil content, the dough will quickly stop sticking to your hands, become homogeneous and gather into a ball. Once this happens, set the dough aside, cover the bowl with cling film, and start filling.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Prepare the ingredients for the filling. I advise you to take large apples or, if they are small, increase their number. Any starch will do, I used corn starch. Add cinnamon as desired; if you don’t like it, you can omit it.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

How to make apple filling? Wash the apples, cut into quarters, remove the core and cut off the skin. Then cut them into small cubes.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Take a frying pan, put apples in it, add sugar, starch and cinnamon.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

Place the pan on the stove over low heat. Sweat the apples, stirring them with a spatula, for about 5 minutes. I got a dry variety; the apples released almost no juice, but this did not affect the taste of the filling. You can add a little butter to the filling; add it at the very beginning along with the apples.

  12. STEP 12

    STEP 12

All that remains is to make the pies. You can do this in two ways. Roll out the dough into a thin layer and cut it into circles in a suitable shape. In this case, the pies will turn out the same with thin dough, but there will be a lot of scraps that will have to be rolled out again. I chose another option - I divided the dough into equal pieces and rolled them out. By the way, you no longer need flour - the dough practically does not stick. I got 16 pieces.

  13. STEP 13

    STEP 13

Place a little filling on the round piece and seal the pie in any way. I made a classic shape, you can shape the pies in your own way.

  14. STEP 14

    STEP 14

It is better to twist the seam additionally so that it does not come apart during baking.

  15. STEP 15

    STEP 15

Place the pies on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.

  16. STEP 16

    STEP 16

In a small bowl, beat the egg with a fork. Brush the pies with a pastry brush to give them a golden brown crust.

  17. STEP 17

    STEP 17

Bake the pies in the oven at 180°C for 20-25 minutes, they should be golden. Determine the exact baking time and temperature based on your oven.

  18. STEP 18

    STEP 18

Remove the finished pies from the baking sheet. Serve them in any form - they are delicious both warm and cooled. With milk, tea or just like that. Bon appetit!

The recipe for cottage cheese pies in the oven with apples seems to have been created for those who want both strudel and pies at the same time)). And since I had never tried making cottage cheese pies before, I started cooking without hesitation. I used 5% cottage cheese, the amount of ingredients was exactly as indicated in the recipe. The dough is wonderful to work with, easy to knead and very pleasant to the hands. What I love in the dough)) The apples for the filling were juicy, but when preparing the filling in the pan it was still dry. But it’s not surprising, the starch absorbed all the juiciness. And probably because of it, some graininess appeared in the filling (but this did not spoil the taste). And I couldn’t resist adding some walnuts to the apples. Like the author, I divided the dough and filling into 16 equal parts. And formed the pies. It sticks together perfectly! The dough is very easy to work with. And the amount of filling is perfect for each pie. I baked it for about half an hour. And I really liked the recipe! Delicious curd dough, delicious filling! Delight! And so beautiful. Thanks for the recipe!

I read your recipe and remembered curd tongues, very similar to your pies, only without filling, and the dough is simply indecently very tasty and such pies, and even stuffed with apples and cinnamon, do not last long on the plate, you have to cook the whole portion, otherwise no one can hide from the additive)))

That's funny! And for some reason our grandmother fried cottage cheese pies in oil... I didn’t even know that there were simply baked ones (and it never occurred to me to look for a recipe). As they say, live and learn.
