  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to bake a cornmeal pie with kefir in the oven? Prepare all the necessary ingredients. All products should be at room temperature. Turn on the oven to 180 degrees in advance. Pour sifted wheat and corn flour into a deep bowl, add baking powder, a pinch of salt and vanillin. Stir the dry mixture. Vanillin can be replaced with vanilla sugar. Read how to do this correctly in a separate article at the link after the recipe.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Beat the eggs into another bowl, add sugar, the amount can be reduced or increased to taste.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Beat the eggs with sugar with a whisk or mixer until the sugar is completely dissolved, foam forms on the surface and the mixture thickens slightly. Pour the egg mixture into the bowl with the dry ingredients and stir until smooth.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Pour in vegetable oil and kefir and mix everything again. The dough should have the consistency of thick sour cream. Leave the bowl with the dough at room temperature for 10 minutes. While the dough is standing, you can optionally prepare the pie filling: dried fruits, candied fruits, pieces of fruit, nuts or berries. You don’t have to add anything, but grease the finished pie with cream or cover it with glaze, decorate with powdered sugar and berries.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Line a baking pan with parchment or grease it with butter. You can choose the right parchment paper by reading a separate article about the features of parchment, the link is at the end of the recipe. Mix the dough again and pour into the mold. Bake the pie for about 40 minutes. The exact time depends on the size of the pan and your oven. You can learn about the operating features of ovens by reading a separate article, link at the end of the recipe.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

The pie should brown and have a golden crust on top. You can check readiness with a toothpick - insert it into the middle of the pie and immediately remove it. If it is dry, then the cake is ready.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Remove the pie from the mold, let it cool slightly and serve with tea, coffee or milk, sprinkled with powdered sugar or sweet berry syrup on top. Enjoy your tea!

Great recipe! I was making the pie with pleasure, everything was written very clearly and there were no questions about the preparation. I came across a recipe for a pie made from corn flour with kefir by accident. I just had some cornmeal left and I decided to try making a pie according to your recipe. A very simple and quick version of a new tea pie. My child really liked the yellow biscuit. The color turned out to be rich yellow not only because of the cornmeal, but also because of homemade chicken eggs. I decided to cook the corn biscuit not in the oven, but in a slow cooker for my own reasons. I greased the multicooker bowl with sunflower oil instead of butter. I baked it in the “baking” mode for 40 minutes (I used Redmond). I didn’t check the readiness with a toothpick; I left it in the slow cooker for 10 minutes without opening it. I think if there is no kefir, then it can be replaced with milk or cream. The diameter of my pie is 21 cm. Following your advice, I decorated the corn cake with powdered sugar through a stencil and coated it with raspberry jam, cutting it into two cake layers. The corn flour pie turned out tender, soft, airy and very appetizing! Next time I’ll cook the sponge cake in the oven and coat it with another jam. Thank you for a delicious pie for the whole family!

Thank you very much for the simple but very tasty recipe. The cake came out most tender, I left it in the oven for 40 minutes, I added dried cranberries inside.
