Compote of plums and peaches
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to make compote from plums and peaches for the winter? Prepare all ingredients according to the list. The ratio of plums to peaches per jar may be different than indicated in the recipe. It is permissible to take a little less plums and increase the number of peaches. I prepared compote for four three-liter jars, and therefore increased the number of components 4 times. So, sort the plums, remove the tails and spoiled berries. Choose dense and firm peaches. Wash the berries in cold water.
STEP 2
Wash the jars thoroughly with soda, rinse several times, and then sterilize in a water bath or any other way. Place the lids in boiling water and leave for 5-10 minutes.
STEP 3
Cut the peaches in half and remove the pit. Then cut each half into two more pieces.
STEP 4
Place plums and peaches in a jar.
STEP 5
Fill the jar with boiling water up to the neck. Cover with a sterile lid and leave for 15-20 minutes.
STEP 6
Carefully drain the jars into a saucepan. Place over high heat and bring to a boil.
STEP 7
Pour sugar and a pinch of citric acid into a jar.
STEP 8
Pour boiling water up to the neck.
STEP 9
Close the compote lids using the key. Turn the top upside down and wrap it in a warm blanket. Leave the jars to cool completely (you will need about a day). Next, put the finished compote in the cellar or pantry for storage until winter and beyond.
STEP 10
An amazingly tasty and healthy drink made from plums and peaches is ready for the winter!
