  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to prepare apple compote from apples in a 3-liter jar for the winter? First of all, prepare everything you need. Also prepare the jar: wash it with baking soda and sterilize it. Read about how to do this correctly, as well as other useful information about preservation, in separate articles using the links at the end of the recipe.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

The amount of apples and water is approximate and will depend on the juiciness of the apples, as well as on your desire to make compote of different richness. Choose fruits that are not very large, but of medium size.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

First, thoroughly wash the prepared apples and jar.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Fill the jar 1/2 full with apples (I filled it a little more than half - this compote can be diluted in winter). The minimum amount in my opinion is 1/3 of the volume of the jar.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Now boil water and fill the jar of apples with boiling water to the top. Leave the jar of apples to steep overnight.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

The next day, the water level in the jar will become less, as the fruits will absorb some of the water (how much they will absorb depends on the juiciness or dryness of the fruits). Add boiled water to the very edge.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Now drain the liquid from the jar into the pan.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Add sugar to this liquid and bring the syrup to a boil.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Pour boiling syrup over the apples and seal the jar with an iron lid.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Turn the jar upside down, wrap it in a warm blanket and leave it like that until it cools completely. Then put the jars of compote in a cool place: a cellar or pantry. After about a month, the compote can be opened and drunk.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

    Bon appetit!

I was looking through recipes on the site and saw an interesting recipe for apple compote from apples, 3 liter jar for the winter. The apples are rolled up whole, so a minimum of effort is spent on preparing the product. I sterilized a three-liter jar and filled it more than halfway with apples, filled them with boiling water to the top and left them to steep overnight, covering the jar with a saucer. By morning, the water level in the jar became less, and it acquired a wonderful apple aroma. After adding boiled water to the jar, I poured it into a saucepan, boiled it and poured it over the apples (I sterilized the jar again). Then I drained the water again, added sugar, boiled it, and poured this syrup over the apples to the top. I rolled up the jar with a metal lid. I really liked the recipe! I really love apples from compote; when I open a jar, I always enjoy them. Therefore, I look forward to the time when I can try the compote. Thank you very much!

The preparation itself took half an hour, this is if you do not take into account the time until after the first pouring of boiling water the compote sits for a day.

But I can’t stand it for a day. I pour boiling water over it for the first time, wrap it in a large towel or blanket and leave it for an hour. After an hour, I drain the water, prepare the syrup, pour it a second time and seal it. This is how I prepare any compote - from apples, cherries, and apricots.

But what big apples they are, whole they look much more beautiful in a jar, and it’s nice to eat in winter! You work in the summer, and eat away in the winter)))
