  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make a classic Mimosa salad with saury for the holiday? Prepare the indicated products. Choose medium-sized potatoes and carrots. I used salad onions, you can also use regular onions. My eggs are large, if you take smaller ones, you can take five pieces. Wash all the vegetables first and boil them in their skins until tender, cool. Also boil and cool the eggs. Prepare suitable dishes for the salad.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Carefully open the can of canned saury and drain the liquid from it. In a deep bowl or directly in a salad bowl, mash the fish with a fork. Place mashed canned saury as the first layer in the salad bowl, lightly compacting it.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Peel the salad onions and chop finely. Distribute the chopped onion evenly over the fish.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

For convenience, the mayonnaise can be transferred to a pastry bag. Make a mayonnaise mesh over the layer with onions. You don’t have to apply the mayonnaise mesh, but simply coat the layer with it.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Peel the potatoes and grate them on a medium or coarse grater. Place a layer of grated boiled potatoes evenly on top of the onion and mayonnaise. Make a mayonnaise mesh again.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Peel the boiled carrots and grate them on a medium or coarse grater. Place the grated carrots evenly on a layer with potatoes and mayonnaise. Make a mayonnaise mesh.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Peel the boiled eggs and divide them into yolk and white. Grate the white on a fine grater and distribute evenly over the layer with carrots and mayonnaise. There is no need to coat the layer with mayonnaise.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Wash the dill and dry thoroughly. Finely chop dry, clean dill, leaving a couple of sprigs whole to decorate the salad. Place chopped dill along the edge of the salad bowl. Make flower stems from the remaining dill sprigs.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Grate the yolk on a fine grater and place it on the dill, imitating Mimosa flowers. It is not necessary to make such a decoration. You can simply coat the layer of egg whites with mayonnaise and add finely grated yolks as the final layer.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Before serving, the salad should stand in the refrigerator so that the layers are saturated with mayonnaise and it does not seem dry. Bon appetit!

I liked the recipe. Simple, beautifully presented salad. But I cook a little differently. Instead of canned saury I take pink salmon. It tastes better this way)

I made a classic mimosa salad with saury for my son’s holiday. He likes this salad, and so do I. Usually I put puff salads in a culinary ring, but this time I wanted to form them into a dome. I freed the fish from large seeds, mashed it and immediately combined it with red onion. I think it tastes better this way). I repeated the layers with fish and potatoes twice, and in the middle there was a carrot. I didn't have mayonnaise, so I made it homemade. The salad soaked overnight in the refrigerator. Covered the top with a bag to prevent it from airing. It turned out very tasty! All layers are juicy, but not runny. The appetizer is hearty and the ingredients go together so well that my son ate this salad for breakfast).

Thanks for the idea! I decorated the salad with mimosa sprigs and everyone really liked it. Only the rim was made yellow, not green, as in the original. I thought that there would be enough dill without it; we love it in our house, but not with enthusiasm. Otherwise, everything is very beautiful and tasty.
