Step-by-step preparation
Cooking time: 20 mins
STEP 1
Classic forshmak is made from herring with the addition of onion, butter, loaf, egg, sour apple, milk, salt and pepper.
STEP 2
Boil a hard-boiled egg, soak a couple of slices of loaf in milk. Peel the egg and apples.
STEP 3
Place the prepared products in the bowl of a food processor or meat grinder.
STEP 4
Add herring.
STEP 5
Add the squeezed loaf and grind until smooth. Mix with softened butter and cool.
STEP 6
Serve as an appetizer on sandwiches or toast.
