Georgian spinach pkhali

Amazingly tasty and incredibly healthy! The dish is easy to prepare and turns out very beautiful. Very bright taste, especially in combination with juicy pomegranate! An interesting appetizer for lovers of Georgian cuisine. I love discovering new dishes, especially if it's national cuisine. Georgian cuisine, like many others, quite worthy of adding such an interesting dish to my arsenal as spinach pkhali. This dish is very easy to prepare.

First, throw the spinach into boiling water, keep it there for exactly 1 minute, discard in a colander and let the water drain thoroughly.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

At this time, finely chop the cilantro and throw it into the chopper

  3. STEP 3

    Grind all ingredients

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

We also send spinach here, which we squeeze out of excess water.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Mix everything until smooth, add a couple of drops of wine vinegar, stir

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

The finished dish can be served in several ways

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

You can pour pkhali onto a plate in a heap and garnish with pomegranate seeds

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

The second option (I like it better!) is to roll small balls from the spinach-nut mixture - slightly smaller than a walnut, place them on a dish, and also decorate with pomegranate seeds. I advise you to try it. The taste is very unusual - bright, spicy!

I haven’t even tried Pkhali before. After looking at the list of ingredients, I decided to prepare this dish for my husband, he loves spices and heat. I have frozen spinach in portions. As written in the recipe, I threw them into boiling water, although I kept them a little longer, waiting for the ice to completely melt. Instead of cilantro I used parsley, it is also quite aromatic. I added a little curry to the coriander and khmeli-suneli. Garlic also gives off a strong aroma. I ground everything in a blender. The mixture turned out to be quite viscous, balls were easily rolled out of it. The dish looks bright and beautiful. And what a aroma, just an unimaginable bouquet! My husband appreciated it)

Wow, not a single comment. Okay, I’ll be the first, and maybe the last. I made this dish for the first time and was not at all disappointed. Maybe because I like food with a pronounced taste: spicy, sour, salty, hot, pickled. And Georgian cuisine, as you know, is famous for its spicy flavors and tantalizing aromas. The sauces alone are worth it. So I highly recommend it. While my family looked at the green balls with suspicion, I gobbled them all up myself. Combined with pomegranate - awesome!

What a combination of names, Yulia, Yulyok, I am happy to join in the comments, I really liked the dish, bright, colorful, interesting, so many spices, nuts, spinach, pomegranate seeds are very fitting, I gladly brought it to my K.K. If I have the opportunity to prepare, I will definitely prepare it!
