  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to bake a yeast roll with cinnamon and sugar? First, prepare all the ingredients for the yeast dough. Take the highest grade flour. The butter and eggs should be at room temperature, so remove them from the refrigerator in advance. You can cook from store-bought yeast dough.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Stir sugar and yeast in warm water heated to 37-40°C. Leave for 10-15 minutes until a fluffy cap appears. If the caps still do not appear, then either the yeast is spoiled or the water is overheated. You need to make the dough again because the dough will not rise.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Add room temperature eggs, remaining sugar, salt to the yeast and whisk. You can beat the eggs with sugar and salt separately, and then pour in the yeast.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Add sifted flour in parts and knead into a soft, homogeneous, non-sticky dough. You may need more or less flour depending on how much the dough takes, so don’t rush to add all the flour at once.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Next, stir in the soft butter little by little. The dough should not be too oily. Therefore, less oil may be needed.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Form the dough into a ball, cover with a towel and leave in a warm place for 30-40 minutes to rise.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Now prepare the ingredients for filling and basting. The butter should also be either melted or at room temperature.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

In a bowl, mix cinnamon and sugar.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Knead the risen dough. You can divide the dough into two equal parts and make two rolls or make one large one. Then roll out on a floured table into a rectangular layer 3-5 mm thick. Grease the dough with butter.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Sprinkle cinnamon sugar evenly on top.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

Roll the dough into a tight log.

  12. STEP 12

    STEP 12

Cut the roll in half lengthwise, slightly short of the edge. Intertwine the resulting strips of dough with each other.

  13. STEP 13

    STEP 13

Place the pieces on a parchment-lined baking sheet at a distance from each other and leave for 20-25 minutes to proof.

  14. STEP 14

    STEP 14

Before baking, brush the yeast dough roll with beaten egg. Place the baking sheet in an oven preheated to 180°C for 30-40 minutes. The exact baking time depends on your oven and the thickness of the roll.

  15. STEP 15

    STEP 15

Cool the yeast roll with cinnamon and sugar slightly and serve. Bon appetit!

What smell could be cozier than the smell of cinnamon baked goods? I saw this recipe and immediately decided to try it. I kneaded the dough strictly according to the recipe, but in addition to sugar, butter and cinnamon, I added a handful of steamed raisins and a grated, lightly squeezed apple to the filling. I love the rich inner world in baking). The author also recommends brushing the roll with beaten egg, but I don’t like this taste, so I brush the baked goods with sugar water. My only regret was that I didn’t divide the dough into two parts and bake two small rolls. Because mine turned out to be huge, covering the entire pan diagonally. And I was worried that it wouldn’t be baked inside, so I covered it with paper on top so that it wouldn’t burn. The baked goods turned out wonderful in the end, I saved the recipe.

Having reduced the food layout to three servings, I baked this rather small braided cake from 250 grams of flour. The dough is very airy and tasty, next time I’ll try the poppy seed filling. I used cane sugar, it gave a caramel note to the finished product. Maria, thank you very much for the amazing baked goods for our family dinner.
