STEP 1
How to make Christmas tree salad for the New Year? Prepare the necessary ingredients. You can make your own mayonnaise. You will find recipes for homemade mayonnaise after the last step. Wash the mushrooms, dry and cut into medium-sized pieces. Peel the onion, rinse with cold water so that it does not sting your eyes, and cut into half rings.
STEP 2
Heat the vegetable oil a little in a frying pan. Add mushrooms and onions to the pan, add a pinch of salt, stir and fry over medium heat for about 10 minutes, stirring constantly.
STEP 3
Grate the smoked cheese on a coarse grater.
STEP 4
Wash the carrots and boil in their skins until tender for 20-30 minutes. Cool the boiled carrots and peel them. Grate one whole carrot and half of the second on a fine grater, the other half will be used for decoration.
STEP 5
Boil the eggs hard. Read about how to do this correctly in a separate article at the link at the end of the recipe. Cool the boiled eggs, peel and grate on a coarse grater.
STEP 6
Wash the dill, dry it and finely chop it with a knife, after cutting off the stems.
STEP 7
For the first layer of salad, mix mushrooms with cheese with a tablespoon of mayonnaise. Lay out the first layer, forming a Christmas tree. Try to compact everything well and make a uniform surface, without tubercles.
STEP 8
Mix the carrots with a tablespoon of mayonnaise and place in a second layer, also compacting it well and leveling it with a fork.
STEP 9
The third layer will be eggs. Pre-mix them too with a tablespoon of mayonnaise and apply evenly to the salad.
STEP 10
The final layer is decorative. This is dill. Sprinkle it generously over the salad to make it look like a Christmas tree.
STEP 11
I used leftover carrots and canned red peppers as garnish. I cut the carrots into large circles and cut out small ones, and also cut out circles and a star from the pepper. I made garlands from mayonnaise. You can also use canned corn, peas, cherry tomatoes, etc. as decoration. Bon appetit and Happy New Year!
