  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to bake a breast in the oven? To prepare this dish, use 2 whole bone-in chicken breasts. They can be with or without skin, as you prefer. You can replace the breasts with boneless fillets, but you need to use more of them.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Wash the chicken breasts thoroughly and dry with paper towels. Cut the breasts in half lengthwise to make 4 pieces.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Place the prepared chicken tightly in a baking dish.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Now prepare the sauce. You can replace rice vinegar with balsamic or apple cider vinegar. Olive oil can be replaced with sesame oil. You can replace fresh garlic with 1 tsp. with a heap of dry granulated. If you don't have dried paprika flakes on hand, substitute regular dried paprika.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Peel the garlic and grate it on a fine grater or pass it through a press.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Pour olive oil into a saucepan and add cornstarch.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Place the saucepan over medium heat and whisk the butter and starch until smooth. There should be no lumps of starch.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Pour in soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, chopped garlic, ground ginger, ground paprika and sesame seeds. Mix everything well and cook the sauce, stirring occasionally, until it thickens.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Adjust the thickness of the sauce according to your taste. I boil it so that it is viscous, but still fluid. This takes about 15 minutes.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Using a brush, brush the chicken breasts with the prepared sauce. If you wish, you can simply pour all the sauce over the breasts, but I prefer to leave some to periodically brush the chicken while baking. The sauce will just cool down and become even thicker. Place the pan in an oven preheated to 180°C and bake for about 45 minutes, periodically pouring sauce from the bottom of the pan or brushing with sauce from the saucepan. The exact baking time depends on your oven.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

Remove the finished breasts from the oven. They should be generously covered with sauce. If during baking all the sauce drains from them, then cool the chicken a little and brush it with the rest of the thickened sauce from the saucepan.

  12. STEP 12

    STEP 12

Then transfer the breasts to a plate, sprinkle with sesame seeds and finely chopped green onions and serve. Bon appetit!

Since I was cooking chicken breasts in soy sauce in the oven for the first time, I took half a breast and the rest of the ingredients according to the calculator. I cut the breast lengthwise into several thin slices, set them aside and started making the sauce. I poured the starch into the vegetable oil, stirred so that there were no lumps, and put it on low heat. I added soy sauce, vinegar, 2 teaspoons of sugar (the recipe calls for more), paprika, and minced garlic to the oil. I did not add ginger and sesame seeds. Cooked the sauce until it thickened. Then I coated each piece of meat with sauce and put the pan with the breast in the oven. Several times I took the breast out and poured sauce from the bottom of the pan over it. The breast turned out tasty, well baked, in a glossy brown sauce. It tastes salty and sour - due to the fact that I added a little sugar. If you increase the amount of sugar, the taste of the breasts will change. A little sauce remains at the bottom of the pan. You can use it to season a side dish. Thank you very much for the recipe!
