    How to caramelize apples for pie? Very simple. Cut one apple into slices about 5 mm thick.

    Melt the butter in a non-stick frying pan.

    Place the apple slices in the pan and cook over medium heat until golden brown on one side first, about 5-7 minutes. Then carefully turn each slice over and fry for another 5 minutes.

There is no baking soda or baking powder in the recipe. This is right? The dough turned out heavy, similar to a noodle casserole. I don't want to bake this cake a second time.
