  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make loose shortbread pie with jam? Prepare the necessary ingredients for this. You can use any jam for the filling, as long as it is thick. I have blackcurrant jam. Sift the flour through a sieve in advance.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

To prepare the dough, take a comfortable, spacious bowl. Combine flour and oatmeal in it. Add a pinch of salt and vanilla.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Then add both types of sugar to the bowl. If you don't have brown sugar, add white sugar instead. Mix all dry ingredients together.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Melt the butter. This can be done in a microwave oven or in a water bath. Pour the melted butter into the bowl with the dry ingredients.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Mix everything until the dough turns into crumbs.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

To prepare the pie, take an 18-20 cm pan. Cover the bottom with parchment. Divide the dough into 2 unequal parts. Spread most of it over the bottom of the pan in an even layer, forming small sides on the sides.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Spread your chosen jam onto the dough. Level it out.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Sprinkle the remaining dough on top. Press a little to make it tight. Place the pie in the oven, preheated to 180 degrees, for 25-30 minutes. Be guided by your oven.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

The finished pie will be slightly golden in color. Remove pan from oven.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Remove the pie from the pan and cool. Cut the pie into pieces and serve with tea. Bon appetit!

For tea I prepared a delicious raspberry shortbread cake with jam. Instead of oatmeal, I used whole Hercules and used self-raising flour with baking powder and salt. I placed 2/3 of the crumbs on pastry paper and pressed them to the bottom with a spoon so that it was convenient to distribute the jam in an even layer, and sprinkled the crumbs on top. I baked it in a rectangular pan 30 by 20 cm. I used regular white sugar without increasing the volume. It turned out to be a delicious and quick to prepare tea pie.

Good recipe. But I decided to add a yolk to the bottom dough. And in the dough there is only white sugar 70 g. The jam was cherry. Very sweet. I think that if I make it again, I will double all the ingredients (except sugar 😀).

I’ve baked a loose pie more than once, but this was the first time I saw the recipe with cereal and was interested in the idea! I decided to cook it and I was right: it’s quick, easy to prepare, and it turns out very tasty! I have gooseberry and raspberry jam! Ideal for tea drinking, you can experiment with the filling and there will be a new taste every time! This is, of course, great! Thanks to Yulia for the recipe 😘

Thanks for the recipe! The pie turned out delicious, tender and crumbly. Grind oatmeal in a blender. I put 70 grams of sugar, plus vanilla sugar. My jam was very sweet, so I also reduced the quantity. Can you please tell me if I double the ingredients and add the yolk to the 2/3 of the batter that goes into the bottom crust, will the pie be less crumbly? I would like to slightly increase the density of the dough, but at the same time not make it too hard.

I baked the cake for the second time. Doubled the ingredients. I added the yolk only to the dough for the bottom crust. The crumbs became a little more moist, but were distributed well in shape. I crushed it a little, then put jam and crumbs on top. As a result, after baking, the pie cuts well, the bottom crust stops falling apart, and the top crumb remains crumbly. Now this pie will be a frequent guest on our table! Marjoram, thanks again for the recipe!

Loose shortbread pie with jam is a very simple homemade cake for tea or coffee for pleasant gatherings with the family and more. It cooks extremely quickly and does not require any household appliances (except the oven). I made it not with jam, but with jam, with plum. It turned out to be such a pleasant sourness.
