  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

Let's prepare the ingredients for the bulk pie according to the list. The jam should not be too liquid so that the dough does not become damp. Instead of jam, you can use curd filling, jam or a filling of fresh berries and fruits if desired. You can immediately turn on the oven to heat it up to 180 degrees, the dough cooks very quickly. Place softened butter in a deep bowl.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Instead of butter, you can use margarine; it is a cheaper product, but less healthy. If you don’t have time to wait for the butter to soften at room temperature, you can melt it a little in the microwave for 15 seconds. Chop the butter into pieces with a knife. Add a pinch of salt and half a teaspoon of baking powder. Those who like sweeter baked goods can add sugar. Add sifted wheat flour.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

It is better to knead the dough immediately with your hands, grinding the butter and flour into crumbs. The crumbs should be slightly moist and uniform in size. If you wish and time allows, then the butter can, on the contrary, be frozen in the freezer and grated, then the crumbs will turn out large and of the same size.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Pour two-thirds of the flour crumbs into the baking dish, form low sides of dough along the edges of the form so that the filling does not leak out of the dough during baking. You don't have to grease the pan; the cake won't stick to the bottom. The height of the crust affects the baking time of the pie.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Place the prepared filling on the dough and distribute it evenly over the entire surface of the shortbread crumbs. The filling should not be too liquid so that the dough is baked, and not too thick, since shortbread dough is quite dry.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Sprinkle the remaining sand crumbs on top of the filling. Place the pie pan in the oven for 20 minutes. But the baking time depends on the size and height of the pie, the filling and, of course, the operation of the oven. The pie should be slightly browned on top; there is no need to overdry it, otherwise it will be dry and not tasty.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Remove the pie from the oven, let cool, cut into pieces and serve. Enjoy your tea!

I still had cherry jam, I was thinking about what to make with it and in my feed I saw a recipe for a bulk pie that was as simple as shelling pears. I decided to cook it. My jam is thick, but to be sure that it won’t “run away” anywhere during baking, I boiled it for a couple of minutes with a spoonful of potato starch and let it cool completely. I kneaded the dough according to the recipe. Melt the butter a little in the microwave. I had a dilemma about whether to add sugar and in the end I decided to cook without sugar, because the jam is already sweet. The pie was baked for more than the specified time, until it was slightly browned. The fact that the dough is sugar-free did not affect the taste for the worse. The children ate with pleasure and the adults too. No one even realized that there was no sugar in the dough. Thanks for the simple and easy recipe!
