STEP 1

How to bake bream in the oven in foil? Choose medium-sized fish (less than a kilogram). Such bream will be tastier than too big one. In addition, for a large one you will still need to find a suitable baking dish. It is advisable to buy chilled bream, since it is difficult to judge freshness and quality from frozen fish. The bream should have clear eyes and a neutral odor.
STEP 2

If the bream is frozen, defrost it in advance. Remove the packaging and place it in a container on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator 6 hours before cooking. After improper defrosting, the fish may become dry and the taste will be spoiled. Remove the scales. Make a longitudinal cut on the abdomen and remove the entrails from the fish. Cut off the fins and remove the gills. Then rinse the bream well in running water. Dry with paper towels to remove unnecessary moisture.
STEP 3

Turn on the oven to preheat to 200 degrees. Rinse the lemon well under running water. Squeeze the juice of half a lemon into a small deep container. Peel the garlic, rinse and chop with a knife. Add garlic, oil, salt and spices to lemon juice. I recommend not to overdo it with spices, so as not to overwhelm the taste of the fish. Mix everything well.
STEP 4

Rub the resulting marinade over the outside and inside of the bream. Place the garlic inside the belly of the bream.
STEP 5

Cut the remaining half of the lemon into thin rings.
STEP 6

Place a few pieces on top, the rest in the belly of the fish.
STEP 7

Wrap the bream in foil, leaving a small hole at the top for steam to escape. If necessary, wrap with a second layer of foil. Place the fish on a baking sheet and place in the preheated oven. Bake at 200 degrees for 20-30 minutes depending on your oven. 5 minutes before it’s ready, unroll the foil on top and put it back in the oven so that the bream browns.
