STEP 1
We prepare all the necessary products indicated in the ingredients and see how to prepare a salad of beets, potatoes and herring.
STEP 2
First, let's clean the herring. We gut it by cutting the belly, cutting off the head and backbone, taking out the bones and removing the skin. We only need the flesh of this fish. If the herring is too salty, it will need to be pre-soaked in water or milk. Cut the fish fillet into small slices. If you don’t want to waste time cutting up herring, then buy ready-made fillets at the store.
STEP 3
We cook potatoes in their jackets. To do this, put it in a saucepan with cold salted water and cook after boiling for 25 minutes until done, which can be checked using a knife with a sharp blade. Remove from the water and let cool.
STEP 4
Cook the beets for 40-50 minutes until they become soft, then cool them by removing them from the pan and leaving them in a cool place for a while. The readiness of the beets can also be easily checked with a knife by piercing them in several places to test.
STEP 5
Let's divide all the components into two parts.

Grate the potatoes, beets and apples using a coarse grater (you can sprinkle the apples with lemon juice to prevent them from darkening). Peel and chop the onion.
STEP 7
Now let’s start “assembling” the salad. Precisely by assembly, since the sequence of actions is important here. Place half of the herring on the bottom of the salad bowl, and put half of all the potatoes on top.

Next, spread half the apple chips.
STEP 9
The next layer will consist of half beets and half onions.
STEP 10
Pour half of the prepared mayonnaise on top.
STEP 11
Let's level it out.
STEP 12
Then we go around the second circle: lay out the herring and potatoes.
STEP 13
Then grated apple.
STEP 14
We finish the dish with a layer of beets and onions.
STEP 15
Pour the remaining mayonnaise on top of the salad. At the end, decorate the salad with chopped parsley. Give the finished dish time to soak.
