Step-by-step preparation

Cooking timeCooking time: 15 mins
  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

Prepare all ingredients. Wash rosemary, mint and garlic. Rinse a piece of meat under running water and dry with paper towels.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Add vegetable oil, a sprig of rosemary, mint and garlic to the pan. Place on high heat. It is best to use a high-rimmed pan, as there will be a lot of splatter when browning the beef. Keep the rosemary and mint in the hot oil for a while and remove from the pan with a fork or spoon (they have already fulfilled their function, saturating the oil with aromas.)

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Turn the garlic over to the other side. Place a piece of beef into hot oil. Attention! At this stage, there is no need to salt or pepper the meat, this way it will remain as juicy and tender as possible. Fry for about two to three minutes on one side.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Then carefully turn the piece over to the other side using tongs. Leave it for a couple of minutes over high heat (the longer the meat is fried in a frying pan, the tougher it becomes).

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Place the finished steak on a plate (the plate should not be very cold.) Using a teaspoon, add softened butter to the steak.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Add salt and pepper to taste. It is better to use coarsely ground black pepper, or crush black peppercorns in a mortar; it is ideal for steak.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Cover the plate with the steak with a deep cup or microwave-safe lid. Let the steak “rest” for a while (ten minutes will be enough).

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

You can serve steak with herbs and vegetables, as well as with various sauces to suit your taste.

I liked the recipe, thanks to the author for the detailed and clear description. I cook steak on a grill pan according to James Oliver's recipe. There's no word for how delicious!

A very interesting recipe for cooking meat - quick and easy. But somehow I and raw meat or meat with blood are not yet compatible, I don’t know why. Certainly not without an oven. Thank you very much for the recipe, very informative!
