Step-by-step preparation

Cooking timeCooking time: 2 hr
  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

In a small bowl, combine the egg, sour cream, sugar, baking powder. Beat a little with a fork, the contents begin to bubble.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

    Add butter at room temperature.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Break the butter a little with a fork, leaving small pieces remaining.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

    Add sifted wheat flour.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Knead the dough with a fork, carefully picking up flour from the edges.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

This is the kind of dough that is not cool and not liquid.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

To prepare caramel, put sugar and butter in a frying pan. Heat the frying pan and stir the contents. Keep it on the fire for one or two minutes, stirring continuously.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

This is how caramel should turn out.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

We transfer the caramel into the form in which we will bake the pie. If you bake in a frying pan, then you do not need to lay out the caramel.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

We cut the bananas as you please: pieces, stripes, circles, halves. I laid them out in the shape of a flower.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

Lubricate your hands a little with vegetable oil and take the dough. Roll a ball in your hands and make a flat cake from it. Place it exactly in the middle and carefully, with your hands, stretch it to the sides to fit the mold. The dough is obedient, takes the shape of a circle easily. Place in the oven for forty minutes at one hundred and eighty degrees. But at the same time, we remember that only you know the character of your oven.

  12. STEP 12

    STEP 12

After the time has passed, remove from the oven. The result is such an appetizing, crispy crust. You can see that there is still some butter on the sides. Leave it like this for about ten minutes, during which time the crispy crust will safely absorb the oil and cool a little. If the dough sticks to the edges form, separate it with a knife. Cover the cake with a suitable size plate and hold it tightly, turn it over...

  13. STEP 13

    STEP 13

Oops bark! And we got such a sunny-amber beauty.

  14. STEP 14

    STEP 14

The symbiosis of a thin, crispy crust with a banana soaked in caramel created an amazing taste of the pie!

Tatiana, hello! Listen, you write texts for step-by-steps so deliciously, we need to prepare them! I bake something similar with plums - a plum upside-down, but somehow I didn’t like the taste of banana in baked goods / tried scones, a cupcake /. But I haven’t tried the pie yet, I need to improve, bananas often remain overripe, I might like it and I’ll use them not only in smoothies. Thanks for the recipe!

Tatiana, THANK YOU for the recipe! It turned out very tasty! My bananas were ripe, but unsweetened, I added 0.5 cups of sugar. It turned out just great, not cloying. Tender, shortbread dough, with crispy edges and bananas soaked in caramel... Mmmm... Please tell me, if the bananas are sweet, can I reduce the amount of sugar? Then you will need less oil?
