  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to bake salmon in foil? Wash salmon fillets, skin on, and pat dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. If your fish is frozen, defrost it on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator overnight.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Line a baking dish with a suitable size piece of foil with allowances for closing. Remember the rule: shiny side on the inside, matte side on the outside. I have a ceramic mold with a high side. Wash the lemon and lime under running water and cut into thin rings. Distribute the citrus evenly on the foil and sprinkle with salt.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

Place the fish skin side down in the pan on top of the citrus. Salt and pepper to taste.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

For the marinade, melt the butter in any way you like. I did this in the microwave. Add liquid honey.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Grate the garlic into the marinade on a fine grater. Do not overdo it with garlic, so that it only complements and does not overwhelm the taste of the noble fish.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Pour the marinade over the fish. It is convenient to do this with a tablespoon.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

At my own risk, I garnished the fish with lime slices on top. Why can't I recommend this step necessarily? Not always, but it often happens that citrus fruits taste bitter. And if from below, under the salmon, this is not critical (because of the skin), then if the bitterness is on top, then it will definitely be transmitted to the entire piece. I had luck and the lime wasn't bitter, but if you don't want to risk expensive fish, just don't put the citrus on top.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Fold the foil up and seal the edges. If it doesn't turn out airtight, it's okay. Bake the salmon for 20 minutes in an oven preheated to 180⁰C. 5 minutes before cooking, turn on the grill mode.

Salmon baked in the oven in foil is always a delicacy, an exquisite table decoration! I didn’t have fillet, I took a steak, added sprigs of rosemary, I really love the combination of lemon and rosemary, and with fish it’s even tastier! The marinade in the recipe is wonderful. The fish turned out incredibly tasty! Thank you very much for the recipe!
