Pie with condensed milk
Any novice pastry chef, even the youngest, can master the recipe for a pie with condensed milk without the slightest problem. All you have to do is choose the right set of ingredients, mix everything and bake in the oven or slow cooker. The composition can be as follows: flour, condensed milk, eggs, soda or baking powder. First, the eggs are beaten into foam. Then all the products are added to them. The result is a liquid dough that is baked in one layer. The finished product can be decorated as desired or simply sprinkled with powdered sugar.
Due to the sweetness of condensed milk itself, pie recipes using it usually do not include sugar.
You can also add fresh chopped fruits, berries, dried fruits, candied fruits, nuts, chocolate balls, and small candies to the batter.
But a pie made with condensed milk can be not only sponge cake, but also shortbread. To do this, you need to add butter or margarine to the dough. And the dough should be thick, suitable for rolling out. The cakes are baked either thin to create a multi-layer cake with cream. Or in the form of a basket, which can then be filled with any filling: mousse, jelly, cream cheese.
Instead of being added directly to the dough, condensed milk for the cake can also be used as a base for a rich filling. For example, beat it with butter. For one standard jar of 240 grams, 100-150 grams of butter is usually enough. You need to beat until the cream becomes fluffy, airy, tender, and homogeneous. Boiled condensed milk, or varenka, is considered ideal for this task.
By the way, it can also be added to pie dough to get an amazing caramel taste. Whole condensed milk makes an amazing mousse for tarts. To do this, beat the egg yolks into a thick foam. While beating with a mixer, condensed milk is poured into them, and a little later - lemon juice. The mass will not be too thick, but not liquid either. It is intended for baking with a ready-made crust. The taste is somewhat reminiscent of bird's milk.
