Yogurt pie
Ingredients
Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1
How to bake a pie with yogurt? Prepare the necessary products. The butter should be soft and at room temperature. I recommend soaking the poppy seed in boiling water for 20 minutes - this will make it more aromatic and tender. I didn’t do it and later regretted it. Afterwards, be sure to dry it, removing all excess moisture. Wash the eggs and dry with napkins.
STEP 2
Pour the curdled milk into a bowl, add one large or two small eggs and baking powder. Read about using baking powder in baking in a separate article at the end of the recipe.
STEP 3
Add softened butter.
STEP 4
Pour sugar into the dough and mix all ingredients well until smooth. By the way, you can stir after adding each ingredient; this will only further saturate the dough with oxygen.
STEP 5
Add dry cinnamon and dried poppy seeds into the whipped mixture. Stir again.
STEP 6
Now gradually sift the wheat flour into the dough. Do this in parts, because you may need more or less flour than I did. Focus on the consistency of the dough. Read about the properties of flour in the link below the steps. Mix everything until smooth - the dough should become like thick sour cream. Let it sit for 15 minutes.
STEP 7
Place baking paper greased with sunflower or butter in a baking dish. Then pour in the prepared dough. Place the pan in the oven, heated to 180 degrees.
STEP 8
Bake at 180 degrees for about 15 minutes. Then I lower the temperature to 160-150 and finish baking the pie until done. Determine the exact baking time and temperature based on your oven. Read about the operation of different ovens at the end of this recipe. When the cake has risen well and browned, carefully open the oven so that it does not fall immediately due to the temperature difference. And check the readiness with a wooden skewer.
STEP 9
Remove the finished pie from the oven, let cool slightly and turn it over onto a plate. Using regular thread, cut the cake in half. It's very easy and simple!
STEP 10
Coat the bottom part of the yogurt pie with any jam or condensed milk, cover with the second part and cool completely. You don’t have to soak the pie with anything at all or cut it. You can glaze it, sprinkle it with powdered sugar, or leave it as is. Either way, it's delicious with tea or coffee.
STEP 11
Decorate the cake to your liking, I used powdered sugar and some candies.
