Step-by-step preparation
STEP 1

How to bake a whole turkey in the oven in a sleeve? First, prepare all the necessary products. You can take the turkey chilled or frozen, then first defrost it at room temperature. It is better to choose large and sweet and sour apples; I took fragrant homemade apples. You can replace raisins with other dried fruits, such as dried apricots or prunes.
STEP 2

Peel the garlic. Rinse the raisins well under running water; you can use a colander for this. Wash the apples well and cut into medium slices, removing the core.
STEP 3

Rub the turkey thoroughly with salt, ground pepper and paprika on all sides; if you wish, you can wear gloves so as not to burn your hands. Also add a little salt and pepper inside.
STEP 4

Stuff the turkey with chopped apples, raisins and a few cloves of garlic. If you wish, you can sew up the belly with threads or fasten it with toothpicks; I left it as is, so that excess fat would flow out smoothly during baking. Make small cuts on the outside and insert the remaining garlic into them, so the poultry meat will bake better and smell appetizingly like garlic.
STEP 5

Wrap the turkey meat in a baking sleeve, tie it or use special clips, leave it to marinate in a warm place for 2-3 hours, if you wish, you can put it in the refrigerator overnight, then the turkey meat will marinate even better and become more tender. Before baking, preheat the oven to 180 degrees, bake the turkey for about 2-2.5 hours, the time will depend on the size of the bird and your oven.
STEP 6

Serve the finished turkey hot on the table, pouring lemon juice or melted duck fat over it, it will be very juicy and tasty, you can decorate it with fresh vegetables and herbs, bon appetit!
