Whole grain bread

Healthy, easy, dietary, tasty and inexpensive! Whole grain breads are an excellent substitute for bread products, especially when following a diet. They are lower in calories, contain a lot of fiber, but, above all, very tasty. The bread is suitable for sandwiches and just as a snack.

  1. STEP 1

    STEP 1

How to make whole grain bread? Prepare your food. Take refined, odorless vegetable oil. Instead of sesame, you can use cumin, coriander, and peeled seeds. Or cook without any additives at all.

  2. STEP 2

    STEP 2

Pour yeast and sugar into warm (temperature about 38 degrees) water. Stir and leave for 10 minutes to activate. If the yeast is fresh and of good quality, then a “cap” of foam should rise from the top.

  3. STEP 3

    STEP 3

In a bowl for kneading dough, combine two types of flour, salt, pour in activated yeast.

  4. STEP 4

    STEP 4

Mix all ingredients with a spatula.

  5. STEP 5

    STEP 5

Add sesame seeds. Stir until smooth.

  6. STEP 6

    STEP 6

Grease your hands with vegetable oil and knead the dough for 5 minutes. It should become smooth and elastic. If the dough is too stiff, add a little warm water. Too liquid - add a little more flour.

  7. STEP 7

    STEP 7

Transfer the dough to a floured table, roll it out with a rolling pin into a flat cake about 1 cm thick. Grease the surface with vegetable oil.

  8. STEP 8

    STEP 8

Fold the greased cake in several layers, put it back into the bowl and leave in a warm place for 30 minutes, covered with a towel.

  9. STEP 9

    STEP 9

Roll out the resting dough directly on the parchment (I use a silicone baking sheet) on which the bread will be baked, into a rectangular layer 4-5 mm thick.

  10. STEP 10

    STEP 10

Cut the dough into rectangles, defining the boundaries of the future loaves. Prick the loaves with a fork.

  11. STEP 11

    STEP 11

Place the bread in an oven preheated to 200°C and bake for about 15 minutes. The exact time will depend on the features of your oven - the bread should be slightly browned. Remove the finished bread from the baking sheet and cool, dividing into cuts. Serve to the table. Bon appetit!

I prepared whole grain breads, I liked this cooking option - with yeast. With them, the bread turned out fluffy and soft inside, even though I rolled out the dough very thin. The children quickly took the bread off the table and ate it just like that, instead of cookies, but I think that they would go great with some kind of spread - caviar, pate, etc. Good recipe, thank you!

I was really interested in trying homemade whole grain breads and this recipe came in handy. And I’ll say right away that it will undoubtedly be one of my favorites from now on. The composition is excellent! Yeast dough is easy to knead, I used both types of flour exactly as indicated by the author of the recipe. In addition to white sesame seeds (I didn't have black ones on hand), I added sunflower and flax seeds, as well as a little cumin. It was very convenient to work with the dough. When cutting the dough layer into rectangles, I decided to make them small, so the quantity turned out to be a lot of mini-breads at once)) And it turned out very tasty! Crispy, not tough, with a wonderful combination of seeds and sesame. Excellent rye-whole grain bread. I will definitely bake them again. It doesn't take long, is quite easy to prepare, tasty and healthy! Thanks for the recipe, Maria!
